📹 Game Highlights Saprissa vs Philadelphia Julian Carranza scored a second half hat-trick to spur the Philadelphia Union to a 3-2 victory at Costa Rican giants Deportivo Saprissa of Costa Rica in the first leg of their 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup Round One series on Tuesday night at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa in San Jose, Costa Rica. The Union rallied from a halftime deficit to claim the win and now hold a one-goal lead on aggregate with three crucial away goals heading into next week's return leg in Philadelphia. Saprissa came out in aggressive fashion, trying to land an early blow and nearly got a goal in the 14' when Yoserth Hernandez fired over the crossbar. That was followed by a Warren Madrigal header that missed wide by inches in the 20'. The Estadio Saprissa was rocking with every foray forward made by the home side, but it was a defensive mistake from the Union that gave the Ticos a 1-0 lead in the 28', as a back pass from Jakob Glesnes took a big hop and bounced past Philadelphia GK Andre Blake for a goal. The Union would recover in the second half and pulled level in the 55' when some great service from Kai Wagner allowed Julian Carranza to thump in a header to make it 1-1. The momentum was now with the Union, as the visitors continued streaming forward in attack in search of a go-ahead goal. It came in the 76' on a slick link-up after the Saprissa defense had lost their shape, ending with Daniel Gazdag crossing to Carranza, who had an easy touch into net for a 2-1 Philadelphia lead. The Union then tacked on an insurance goal in the 79' thanks to some hard work from Quinn Sullivan, who cutback for Gazdag and a one-time pass into Carranza saw the Argentine complete his hat-trick for a 3-1 scoreline. Saprissa never stopped pushing forward, though, and a strike in the 90' from Gerald Taylor cut the Philadelphia lead down to 3-2, giving the Costa Ricans a late boost heading into next week's second leg. #ConcaChampions ⚽ #concacaf #saprissa #philadelphia #roundone #highlights 🔔 Subscribe to our channel, and turn on notifications: https://www.youtube.com/concacaf/view_as=subscriber?sub_confirmation=1 💻 You can also visit our website and enjoy our exclusive content: https://www.concacaf.com/ 📱 Follow us on our social networks: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thechampions/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/thechampions Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thechampions
Costa Rican club Herediano produced a comeback for the ages, rallying from two goals down in the second half to defeat Toluca of Mexico, 3-2, in the second leg of their 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup Round One series on Thursday night at the Estadio Nemesio Diez in Toluca, Mexico. With the result, Herediano advance to the Round of 16 on the away goal tiebreaker following a 4-4 draw on aggregate. Herediano will next face 2023 Concacaf Caribbean Cup champions Robinhood of Suriname. Toluca were in dreamland in the early going, as they picked up an early 1-0 lead in the fifth minute when Maximiliano Araujo managed to play a cutback pass that found a wide-open Mauricio Isais, who calmly stroked home for a goal. The Liga MX side could play to their liking, and that resulted in a second score for the home side right before the halftime break, as Jesus Angulo hammered in a left-footed shot to stretch the Toluca advantage to 2-0. Herediano refused to back down, though, and a right-footed rocket from Andy Rojas in the 57' suddenly cut the Toluca lead in the match down to 2-1. It proved to be a stunning shift in momentum and minutes later in the 62' Francisco Rodriguez made the slightest deflection with his boot off a Joshua Canales cross to redirect the ball into net to even the match at 2-2 and cut Toluca's aggregate lead to 4-3. The nerves could be felt all throughout the stadium, with Toluca trying to hold onto their lead and Herediano trying to find one more goal. The visiting Ticos were undaunted, and in the 84' Joshua Canales reacted well to spin in a header off a scuffed shot to hand Herediano a 3-2 lead in the match and the advantage in the series on away goals at 4-4. Herediano were then able to nail things down the rest of the way to complete one of the greatest comebacks in Concacaf history. #csherediano #deportivotolucafc #concacaf #concachampions #highlights 🔔 Subscribe to our channel, and turn on notifications: https://www.youtube.com/concacaf/view_as=subscriber?sub_confirmation=1 💻 You can also visit our website and enjoy our exclusive content: https://www.concacaf.com/ 📱 Follow us on our social networks: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thechampions/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/thechampions Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thechampions
Resumen del partido: lo mejor del Panamá vs Costa Rica 🎥 #concacaf #nationsleague #highlights #resumen Panama punched their ticket to the 2023-24 Concacaf Nations League Finals following a 3-1 triumph over Costa Rica in the second leg of their League A quarterfinal on Monday night at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City, Panama. With the result, Panama have won the two-legged series on aggregate 6-1. In addition to advancing to the CNL Finals, Panama have qualified for the CONMEBOL Copa America 2024. Costa Rica will progress to the Concacaf Nations League Play-In. The winner of the Play-In will qualify for the CONMEBOL Copa America 2024. Panama wanted to make sure that Costa Rica could not get off to a quick start and the home side jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 20’ when a Michael Murillo effort was initially blocked by Costa Rica GK Kevin Chamorro, but Jose Fajardo was there to fire home the rebound, giving Fajardo goals in three straight CNL matches against the Ticos. It was all Panama at the moment and Jose Rodriguez gave the home fans another reason to cheer just minutes later with a left-footed rocket from long-range in the 24’ for a 2-0 Panama lead. Panama were then able to tack on a third goal before halftime when Rodriguez was fouled just inside the area and Edgar Barcenas squeezed in the penalty for a 3-0 advantage in the 43’. Costa Rica looked to make some inroads in the second half and pulled a goal back in the 52’ when Joel Campbell curled in a free kick and Francisco Calvo met it with a header to make it a 3-1 contest. It was the closest Costa Rica would come, as Panama saw things out until the final whistle to secure their spot in the CNL Finals in March. 🔔 Subscribe to our channel, and turn on notifications: https://www.youtube.com/concacaf/view_as=subscriber?sub_confirmation=1 💻 You can also visit our website and enjoy our exclusive content: https://www.concacaf.com/ 📱 Follow us on our social networks: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/concacafnationsleague/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/CNationsLeague Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ConcacafNationsLeague
3 DORITOS DESPUES !
🔔 Subscribe to our channel, and turn on notifications: https://www.youtube.com/concacaf/view_as=subscriber?sub_confirmation=1 💻 You can also visit our website and enjoy our exclusive content: https://www.concacaf.com/ 📱 Follow us on our social networks: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/concacafnationsleague/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/CNationsLeague Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ConcacafNationsLeague #concacaf #nationsleague #highlights #resumen
