This game holds significant importance for the Kiwis as a loss here will hand them a series defeat. Although India won the first game they must be disappointed with how they bowled in the latter half of the New Zealand innings. Despite reducing the visitors to 131 for six the Men in Blue allowed Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell to stitch a mammoth 162-run stand for the seventh wicket. As expected Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav were clinical but the other Indian bowlers especially Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya didn't live up to the expectations. So moving on to this game the visitors must regroup and work on their grey areas to restore parity in the series. With the series at stake the likes of Devon Conway Tom Latham and Lockie Ferguson must take ownership and inspire the younger lots to come up with influential returns in this face-off. So can the visitors restore parity? India and New Zealand put on a show in Hyderabad in the opening ODI of the series where the visitors staged a dramatic comeback to almost pull off a heist. As much as it's hard to replicate it in the very next game Raipur would absolutely wish for something closer to that as they brace themselves to host their first-ever international match. Shardul Thakur gives India a handy batting option at No.8 so Umran Malik won't find it easy to force his way back in. Team News New Zealand: The visitors might stick with the same XI as well. This will be the first Test series between the two teams after 2019. As we know Bangladesh have evolved their white-ball game to a great extent in recent years. Their growth from rookie to maestro particularly in the ODIs has been phenomenal to say the least. However unfortunately they are yet to find the cheat code to succeed in the purest format often failing to deliver against quality Test teams. Although the Tigers began the year with a bang by upsetting New Zealand in their backyard they suffered setbacks throughout the rest of the year. More importantly they unlike India have failed to showcase their prowess on home soil and would therefore like to execute the same in this series. On the other hand India have blown hot and cold in Tests this year. Although they had a disastrous start losing two consecutive Tests in South Africa they came back remarkably securing a two-nil whitewash over Sri Lanka on home soil. However the biggest challenge for the Indians will be the absence of their key players Rohit Sharma Jasprit Bumrah Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja who have been sidelined due to injury. However the likes of Saurabh Kumar and Abhimanyu Easwaran have vast experience in red-ball cricket and are therefore pretty much capable of making a mark in the series. The first thing they would want to get right is their game plan against left-arm spin. It wasn't the first time that Shakib Al Hasan left India bamboozled by the arm-ball. Runs against him were hard to come by even on their last tour but Mustafizur Rahman stole the thunder then with the sheer number of wickets on that occasion. This will be the first bilateral ODI series between the two teams after 2015. Injury has struck both teams on the eve of the series. While Bangladesh will miss Tamim Iqbal and Taskin Ahmed India will be devoid of Mohammed Shami who has been sidelined due to a shoulder injury. However both these teams are blessed with incredible bench strength which is why we expect a cracking series to be on the cards. Bangladesh have been ordinary in white-ball cricket of late.
