This game holds significant importance for the Kiwis as a loss here will hand them a series defeat. Although India won the first game they must be disappointed with how they bowled in the latter half of the New Zealand innings. Despite reducing the visitors to 131 for six the Men in Blue allowed Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell to stitch a mammoth 162-run stand for the seventh wicket. As expected Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav were clinical but the other Indian bowlers especially Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya didn't live up to the expectations. On the batting front Virat Kohli must be raring to make his mark in the series while Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav should focus on converting their starts into match-winning knocks. On the other hand Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell were the only positives for New Zealand in the first game. While the Kiwi bowling unit looked in absolute shambles their batters barring Finn Allen succumbed to the scoreboard pressure. So moving on to this game the visitors must regroup and work on their grey areas to restore parity in the series. With the series at stake the likes of Devon Conway Tom Latham and Lockie Ferguson must take ownership and inspire the younger lots to come up with influential returns in this face-off. So can the visitors restore parity? India and New Zealand put on a show in Hyderabad in the opening ODI of the series where the visitors staged a dramatic comeback to almost pull off a heist. As much as it's hard to replicate it in the very next game Raipur would absolutely wish for something closer to that as they brace themselves to host their first-ever international match. Playing host to an epic game would help them in their bid to secure more international matches in the future going ahead which could turn out to be a spectacle given the stadium can accommodate over 60000 people. While another trophy is now within their grasp India's major focus will continue to be on building the ideal side for the World Cup. In the absence of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer the team management would hope the likes of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav get more time out in the middle. As things stand these two appear to be the backup for the top five. Unless they grab their opportunities that scenario might change by the time the World Cup gets closer. Not often do batters follow up a double-century with another big knock. Can Shubman Gill break that trend? You wouldn't count that against him given his last three scores prior to the double ton are 116 21 and 70. While the batting lineup does look extremely strong at the moment India's focus will be on their bowlers. A few days ago they allowed Dasun Shanaka to score big while rallying alongside the tail. And in Hyderabad they were again on top at one stage but couldn't get that decisive wicket for a long time which would have put them in the driver's seat. Team News India: Rajat Patidar might have to wait as the hosts will look to stick to the same combination. Shardul Thakur gives India a handy batting option at No.8 so Umran Malik won't find it easy to force his way back in. Team News New Zealand: The visitors might stick with the same XI as well. At the most a change might be in store in the bowling department. What to expect: No rain is expected during the game with moderate temperatures set to welcome both sides. The surface will carry a bit of mystery given the venue hasn't hosted international cricket yet. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. India vs New Zealand 1st ODI Live This Match Will be Played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Hyderabad on 18th January 2023 This Match Will Start at 1.30pm From Indian Standard time. The face-off is scheduled at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. After a shocking 2-1 defeat to Bangladesh last year India got off to a remarkable start in 2023 whitewashing Sri Lanka by 3-0 on home soil. While the stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli rediscovered their vintage best youngster Shubman Gill proved why he is regarded as the next big thing in Indian cricket. However the two biggest positives for the Men in Blue were the evolution of Mohammed Siraj as a force in the powerplay and Kuldeep Yadav's redemption. Meanwhile KL Rahul's absence has posed a massive challenge for Ishan Kishan as he will likely bat in the middle-order in the series. Also it will be interesting to see if Shardul Thakur justifies his selection as it will be a litmus test for India's comeback man to prove his mettle with bat and ball. Like their opponents New Zealand is coming on the back of a historic series win over Pakistan. But replicating the same in India will be more challenging for the Blackcaps as they will miss their two key players Kane Williamson and Tim Southee. So the onus will be on Tom Latham who has enjoyed stellar success against India in ODIs. Additionally the likes of Henry Nicholls Devon Conway and Glenn Phillips are capable of winning the game on any given day. Although the Kiwis have come up with a solid spin unit studded with Ish Sodhi Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell their pace battery looks slightly off-colour on paper. So it will be fascinating to see how their seamers fare against India's formidable batting unit in the series. So can the visitors surprise the hosts? Team News India: There's no update on Yuzvendra Chahal's shoulder injury he sustained while diving in the first ODI against Sri Lanka which has now kept him out for two straight games. Axar's absence will allow India to try out Washington Sundar for an extended period in that no.7 slot. Shardul Thakur may get a look in at some point in the series maybe ahead of Umran Malik who picked up key middle-overs wickets but bowled at an economy of more than 6.8 in both games against Sri Lanka and was rested for the third. Team News New Zealand: Henry Nicholls could be the front-runner to replace Williamson in the XI from their last game while in the bowling department the toss up would be between the returning medium-pace allrounder Dough Bracewell or Blair Tickner. All three last played for New Zealand between April-July 2022. What to expect: Clear blue skies a sunny afternoon and no chances of rain interruption whatsoever. Unlike last time this will be a mini-auction where only a maximum of 87 players can be bought from an overall pool of 405 players. As usual each squad can have a maximum of only 25 players. The auction will begin at 2:30 PM IST in Kochi on December 23. IPL 2022 Teams to Play: Royal Challengers Bangalore - Chennai Super Kings - Mumbai Indians - Kolkata Knight Riders - Sunrisers Hyderabad - Delhi Capitals - Rajasthan Royals - Gujarat Titans - Punjab Kings -Lucknow Super Giants. Chennai Super Kings Purse - INR 20.45 cr | Slots left - 7 | Overseas slots left - 2 - CSK pacers had the second worst economy in death overs in IPL 2022 with an ER of 11.46; Mukesh Choudhary went at 13.69 while Pretorius conceded at 12.70. Since 2018 Deepak Chahar has bowled only 10.3% of his overs in this phase. Delhi Capitals Purse - INR 19.45 cr | Slots left - 5 | Overseas slots left - 2 - An established backup opener will be in the shopping list for DC given how they struggled last season when either David Warner or Prithvi Shaw was absent. Gujarat Titans Purse - INR 19.25 cr | Slots left - 7 | Overseas slots left - 3 - With Jason Roy released and Rahmanullah Gurbaz traded Titans need an overseas backup opening option. - The defending champions would also look at an ideal No.3 after their options struggled to cement their spot. Kolkata Knight Riders Purse - INR 7.05 cr | Slots left - 11 | Overseas slots left - 3 - Having spent heavily on Shardul Thakur and Lockie Ferguson KKR have the least amount of money to spend. Most of the players they need though are backups which makes things a little easier. Lucknow Super Giants Purse - INR 23.35 cr | Slots left - 10 | Overseas slots left - 4 - Loaded with quite a few top order batters need a couple of middle order batters having released Evin Lewis and Manish Pandey. Mumbai Indians Purse - INR 20.55 cr | Slots left - 9 | Overseas slots left - 3 - A big issue for MI in their last two editions were their domestic seamers behind Bumrah. In five seasons since 2018 outside of Bumrah and Hardik Pandya the domestic Indian seamers have managed an aggregate of mere 59 overs between them and no bowler has picked more than six wickets. Punjab Kings Purse - INR 32.30 cr | Slots left - 9 | Overseas slots left - 3 - Shahrukh Khan has had two middling seasons with PBKS and they would need some backup in this department should he not turn it around. Jitesh Sharma was a revelation last year and had a good SMAT 2022/23 hitting 224 runs at a SR of 175. Rajasthan Royals Purse - INR 13.20 cr | Slots left - 9 | Overseas slots left - 4 - Royals rode on the back of the quality of Buttler and Chahal to overcome their depth issues in both departments in the run to the finals. None of their top five batters could bowl and of their five bowlers only Ashwin had any pedigree with the bat often resulting in him promoted up the order to extend their batting lineup. Royal Challengers Bangalore Purse - INR 8.75 cr | Slots left - 7 | Overseas slots left - 2 - RCB's requirements would be to fill in the backup options. A backup left-arm batter and a left-arm seamer could be in their radar. Sunrisers Hyderabad Purse - INR 42.25 cr | Slots left - 13 | Overseas slots left - 4 - Kane Williamson has been released leaving them a spot at the top of the order have been traditionally reliant on a top order accumulator (Warner & Williamson) in their peak between 2016 and 2020. India vs Bangladesh 1st Test Day 1 Live This Match Will be Played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium Chattogram from 14th December to 18th December 2022 This Match Will Start at 9.00am From Indian Standard time. This will be the first Test series between the two teams after 2019. As we know Bangladesh have evolved their white-ball game to a great extent in recent years. Their growth from rookie to maestro particularly in the ODIs has been phenomenal to say the least. However unfortunately they are yet to find the cheat code to succeed in the purest format often failing to deliver against quality Test teams. Although the Tigers began the year with a bang by upsetting New Zealand in their backyard they suffered setbacks throughout the rest of the year. More importantly they unlike India have failed to showcase their prowess on home soil and would therefore like to execute the same in this series. On the other hand India have blown hot and cold in Tests this year. Although they had a disastrous start losing two consecutive Tests in South Africa they came back remarkably securing a two-nil whitewash over Sri Lanka on home soil. However the biggest challenge for the Indians will be the absence of their key players Rohit Sharma Jasprit Bumrah Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja who have been sidelined due to injury. However the likes of Saurabh Kumar and Abhimanyu Easwaran have vast experience in red-ball cricket and are therefore pretty much capable of making a mark in the series. Considering the strengths of both teams we reckon India will start as the firm favourites to win this match. But can the Tigers force an upset? What to expect: A "batting paradise" in Taskin Ahmed's words. The venue is known for its conditions favouring batters and both teams not just Bangladesh will be put to task in picking 20 wickets on the playing surface here. That said four of the last five Tests here have produced results and notably Bangladesh have lost three of those. The weather is set to be fair over the next five days. Team news Bangladesh: Head coach Russell Domingo has confirmed that Bangladesh are "not going to risk" Taskin Ahmed who is recovering from a back injury. Shakib Al Hasan who was hit in the ribs by Umran Malik during the ODI series continues to feel uncomfortable in his ribs although the scans he underwent again in Chattogram have come back clear. He is likely to put on that blazer in 23 degrees and lead Bangladesh at home once again. Team news India: Regular captain Rohit Sharma is out of the Chattogram Test with a finger injury and KL Rahul will lead the side in his absence. One of the first decisions that the stand-in skipper will be faced with is at the top with regards to who will be his opening partner. Shubman Gill comes with promise and prior experience but uncapped Abhimanyu Easwaran now 27 has been biding his time for far too long and more importantly comes in scores of 141 and 157 for India A in the last couple of weeks. Axar Patel is likely to come in as a like-for-like replacement for injured Ravindra Jadeja whereas Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav pick themselves in the absence of Bumrah and Shami. Will India go with Shardul Thakur's all-round abilities on a flat pitch or include Saurabh Kumar as the third spinning option? Left-arm spinner Saurabh like Abhimanyu also comes in with relevant and recent experience on these shores and picked 15 wickets across two first-class games against Bangladesh A in the last couple of weeks. Jaydev Unadkat who is still stuck in India is obviously out of reckoning. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. India vs Bangladesh 2nd ODI Live This Match Will be Played at Shere Bangla National Stadium Dhaka on 7th December 2022 This Match Will Start at 11.30am From Indian Standard time. While India would be desperately waiting to make a comeback in the series after losing out in an extremely heart-breaking way by just one wicket their counterparts will be looking to better their show in both departments. After scoring 186 on a difficult wicket with a significant effort from KL Rahul who piled up 73 runs India made the course tough for Bangladesh with dismissals at regular intervals reducing them to 136 for the loss of 9 wickets before the end of 40 overs. However the last-wicket partnership between Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman for 51 runs stole the game from Men in Blue's hands. The Bangla Tigers are full of spinners who will be useful on the slow and low pitch of Dhaka their Indian counterparts are no way behind in that aspect. Team News Bangladesh: The hosts are likely to stick with the winning combination. Team News India: Axar Patel if fit could come in for Shahbaz Ahmed to strengthen the batting. Kuldeep Sen although expensive was impressive in patches and is likely to get another game. Shardul Thakur suffered a cramp in the last game but has been cleared to play Shikhar Dhawan said. It's easy to view the opening game as an upset. India are ranked fourth and Bangladesh seventh after all and the visitors have a history of superlative performances in the format; they in fact have won 30 of the 37 ODIs between the sides. But look closer and you will see why Bangladesh winning the first ODI wasn't as unprecedented as it seems. The hosts haven't lost an ODI series at home since October 2016. They have comfortably defeated the likes of Zimbabwe West Indies Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in the meanwhile and looked increasingly comfortable in a format they enjoy playing. Like head coach Russell Domingo said "There is confidence in this format." It was evident in how they bowled against India the other night and then found a hero in Mehidy Hasan to snatch the game from the jaws of defeat but truth be told they would like a less nerve-wracking win this time around. For India a defeat in the second ODI could mean back-to-back series losses in Bangladesh the last one coming back in 2015. The first thing they would want to get right is their game plan against left-arm spin. It wasn't the first time that Shakib Al Hasan left India bamboozled by the arm-ball. Runs against him were hard to come by even on their last tour but Mustafizur Rahman stole the thunder then with the sheer number of wickets on that occasion. This time Shakib is all over the charts and will pose questions for India once again. The visitors though can take heart from the bowling of Mohammed Siraj in the opening ODI. Their problems scaled up only when Siraj was done with his spell with the other bowlers finding it difficult to polish the tail off. Can the unit conjure up an all-round performance and take the series to a decider? What to expect: Another evening of boisterous crowd support for the home side. Spinners will have a say once again and the side which bats better against them will once again call the shots. The captain who wins the toss might want to bowl first again to take advantage of the "sticky" nature of the pitch in those early overs. India vs Bangladesh 1st ODI Live This Match Will be Played at Shere Bangla National Stadium Dhaka on 4th December 2022 This Match Will Start at 11.30am From Indian Standard time. This will be the first bilateral ODI series between the two teams after 2015. Injury has struck both teams on the eve of the series. While Bangladesh will miss Tamim Iqbal and Taskin Ahmed India will be devoid of Mohammed Shami who has been sidelined due to a shoulder injury. However both these teams are blessed with incredible bench strength which is why we expect a cracking series to be on the cards. Bangladesh have been ordinary in white-ball cricket of late. Despite being a good team the Tigers were handed a two-one drubbing by Zimbabwe in their last ODI series. Furthermore they blew hot and cold in the T20 World Cup failing to qualify for the knockouts. So moving on to this series they will aim at a resurgence capitalising on the home advantage under the leadership of Litton Das. On the other hand India will treat this series as a dress rehearsal for the ODI World Cup scheduled next year. They are yet to find their best possible combination. With Shami ruled out this series will be a golden opportunity for Kuldeep Sen and Umran Malik to make a strong case for their inclusion in India's first-choice ODI XI. At the same time the focus will be on India's decorated top three comprising Rohit Sharma Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli who will play together in an ODI series after more than five months. Considering the squads of both teams we reckon India will start as the firm favourites to win this match. However Bangladesh have surprised the Men in Blue in the past and it won't be an upset if they emerge victorious in this game. What to expect: There is a high possibility that the series is likely to witness high-scoring games with the wickets expected to favour the batters. Clear skies with a high of 30 degree Celsius is forecast for the match day. Bangladesh Team News: Litton Das has been handed the responsibility of leadership after Tamim was ruled out of the series due to a groin injury. With Taskin also not available for the first ODI due to a back issue Ebadot Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman will have to handle the bulk of the responsibilities in the pace department. India Team News: With Mohammed Shami ruled out of the series due to a shoulder injury Umran Malik has been roped into the squad but he may not get a game straightaway with India likely to go in Siraj Thakur and Chahar in their pace department. Axar Patel was hit near his chest while batting in the nets on Saturday and was being monitored by the medical team. But he is likely to be available for selection. Pitch Report: The average first innings score in the last five ODI matches at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka is 212 runs and the team batting first have won three matches. Spinners are likely to dominate in this game. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content. The good news first up is that there's no rain at the moment but the conditions remain quite murky as the players engage in a warm-up session on the sidelines. New Zealand are on a red-hot winning form in ODIs at home and they would like one more tonight to nip out a series win against a side they haven't lost against since the 2019 World Cup. Seddon Park is usually a high-scoring venue and India will be well aware of that fact before devising their bowling plans and more importantly of the Latham-sized threat. Pitch report: "Looks like a very hard deck can sense 300 again. Maybe a little bit of moisture early because the covers have just come off. It's a good wicket and unlike start-stop nature of this surface there's enough covering of grass which means it could come on nicely onto the bat" reckon Ajay Jadeja alongside Ashish Nehra. What to expect: A rain dampener. A 90% chance of rain - beginning with a heavy shower forecast for the morning - could see a delayed start and maybe even a curtailed game if at all. New Zealand have won the toss and have opted to field Kane Williamson: We are gonna have a bowl. Surface has been under covers a little so hopefully our seamers can extract whatever little help they can get. We are playing the extra slow option today in Michael Bracewell in place of Adam Milne. He (Southee) is racking up the numbers in all formats and breaking a few records along the way great achievement and a very special player for us. India batted well and got a competitive total on that surface but I certainly liked the intent from the bowling attack so hopefully we can start strong again and build on from the last performance. Shikhar Dhawan: We would have bowled first as there's moisture in the wicket. Even in the last game the wicket was seaming for the first 10-15 overs we got to keep the positive intent and go for the runs. We got 2 changes. Instead of Shardul Thakur Deepak Chahar comes in and Deepak Hooda comes in place of Sanju Samson. We only need 10 percent of improvement and it makes a huge impact and especially in the death bowling we got to be a bit more smarter. A heavy rain threat looms over New Zealand's shot at acquiring pole position in Super League standings and India's chances of levelling the ODI series as the teams prepare for Game 2 of the three-match rubber in Hamilton on Sunday (November 27). Records tumbled in Auckland as Tom Latham and Kane Williamson put on a batting masterclass that enabled the hosts to successfully chase down a 300 plus target only for the second time against India for an early lead in the ODI series. The 7-wicket win already saw them climb two places in the Super League table and with a quick turnaround time between the two games New Zealand would have hoped to surpass Australia (120) England (125) and even India (129 but already qualified by virtue of being hosts) to secure an easy passage to the 2023 World Cup. The inclement weather forecast however may see all of that postponed until Christchurch. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content.
