ISL 2021-22 M105 Highlights: Chennaiyin FC Vs ATK Mohun Bagan | Hindi
ATK Mohun Bagan rode their talisman Roy Krishna's first-half strike to sail into the semifinals for the second straight year, with a 1-0 victory against Chennaiyin FC in the Hero Indian Super League at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda on Thursday. Krishna netted his fifth goal of the season and first this calendar year in the 45th minute and that proved to be the difference in the end as the green and maroons side moved to second in the table with 37 points from 19 matches. They will take on Jamshedpur FC next on March 7 to potentially decide the team that will finish at the top of the table. Jamshedpur have two games in hand and are at the top with 37 points. They take on Odisha FC on Friday. Goa, January 13: Chennaiyin FC's aspirations of breaking into the top-four went up in smoke as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hyderabad FC in a tense Hero Indian Super League game that ended in a 1-1 stalemate at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda on Thursday. Chennaiyin went ahead through Mohd Sajid Dhot in the 13th minute but could not hold on to their slender lead till halftime as Javier Siverio (45th) continued his scoring spree with a goal on the cusp of halftime. There were no goals in the second period as Debjit Majumder made a string of saves in Chennaiyin goal and the home side put pressure in six minutes of added time for the winner but in the end, it ended all square. Hyderabad missed talisman Bartholomew Ogbeche, lacking teeth upfront as the league's top-scorer served his suspension after picking up four yellow cards. The result means Hyderabad moved third in the table with 17 points from 11 games while Chennaiyin remained sixth having 15 points from 11 matches. Chennaiyin nosed ahead early through an unlikely source when young defender Mohd Sajid Dhot headed in Anirudh Thapa's inch-perfect free-kick leaving Laxmikant Kattimani with no chance. Stung by the early goal, Hyderabad got their act together and started bossing possession, also creating chances in the final third. The industry paid off just before halftime as Siverio atoned for his miss just a minute before with a calm and composed finish after Asish Rai sent in a delightful cross inside the box for Siviero to leap highest and head the ball in past Debjit Majumder. Just after the restart, Debjit was forced into making two crucial saves to deny Siverio and Edu Garcia. Both teams made a flurry of chances to get that goal but clear-cut chances were few and far between before Ninthoinganba Meetel's thunderbolt of a shot ricocheted off the bar and his rebound was a meek one. Chennaiyin upped the ante in the latter stages of the second half with the introduction of Rahim Ali injecting pace. By Prathmesh, Australia retain control in Adelaide It has been another disappointing day for England, who are facing a huge, huge task if they're to avoid going 2-0 down in the five-match series. Australia will go into the final two days 282 runs ahead and with nine wickets still remaining, with England needing plenty of rain and a whole lot of good fortune if they're going to salvage any kind of result. Can England save the Test? Sir Alastair Cook has been speaking to BT Sport to try and offer a more positive outlook… “The draw wouldn’t have been an option had they enforced the follow-on. England now, in the morning, have got a game plan. They’ve got 180 overs to make every run Australia score as hard as they can, with their tactic probably to try and delay Australia from making that declaration. “Steve Smith will have a bit of a number to get to, then England will need ‘over my dead body’ batting to come.” What went wrong for England? Dawid Malan, top-scorer for England with 80 from 157 deliveries and part of that big third-wicket partnership with Joe Root, believes losing quick wickets is an area for improvement. "I think it's a little bit of a trend and something we did on the last tour as well and here in the last Test" Malan told BT Sport. "We get a little bit of momentum and a little bit of a partnership going, then as soon as the Aussies take one wicket we sort of lose two or three in clusters. "We can go from 150 for two or three to suddenly 180 for five or six and we're chasing it again, with them all over our tail. We need to get better at, after losing one wicket, making sure we get a partnership going again as quickly as possible."
