Earlier, Hungary supporters - who had been punished for racist abuse of England players when the sides met in September - booed the home side taking a knee, held up a banner against the gesture for equality, fought with police in the stands, and released a flare when they scored. One arrest was made for a racially aggravated public order offence following comments made towards a steward. #SkySportsNews #SkySports #England More from Sky Sports on YouTube: ► Sky Sports Retro: http://bit.ly/SkySportsRetroSub ► Sky Sports: http://bit.ly/SkySportsSub ► Sky Sports Football: http://bit.ly/SSFootballSub ► Sky Sports Boxing: http://bit.ly/SSBoxingSub ► Sky Sports F1: http://bit.ly/SubscribeSkyF1 ► Sky Sports Cricket: http://bit.ly/SubscribeSkyCricket ► Sky Sports Golf: https://bit.ly/SubscribeSkySportsGolf

England Vs Hungary : Hungary Fans Racist Abuse Steward ; Booed On Taking Knee; Clash With Police

Hungary supporters clashed with police at Wembley as a fan was arrested for racist abuse of a steward during Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against England. England manager Gareth Southgate branded the ugly clashes "unacceptable", while England defender Tyrone Mings called for harsher punishments for racism in football. Just moments after kick-off, trouble flared among the pocket of around 1,000 Hungarians in one corner of Wembley. Dozens of Hungary supporters charged at stewards, who were forced to retreat before police wielding batons arrived. The fighting continued for several minutes before riot police finally restored order in the stands and the stadium concourse. The incident occurred when police moved in to arrest one Hungary fan for a racist comment to a steward. Hungary's supporters also booed when England players took the knee before kick-off and held up a banner protesting against the anti-racism gesture. "I was aware of a disturbance. It sounds like it was not acceptable but I haven't seen the detail," Southgate said. Mings added: "Every time we speak on racial abuse the punishments that follow never seem in line with what has happened. "I sincerely hope that if that is the case, the punishments fall in line with what happened this time." Hungary manager Marco Rossi refused to condemn the fans, saying: "I don't want to comment about this situation. "It is not my task. Everything I could say could be interpreted in a different way, so I prefer no comment." The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest on their Twitter account "Shortly after the start of tonight's match at Wembley, officers entered the stand to arrest a spectator for a racially aggravated public order offence following comments made towards a steward," a statement said. "As the officers made the arrest, minor disorder broke out involving other spectators. Order was quickly restored and there have been no further incidents at this stage." The English Football Association said they would report the incident to FIFA and launch an investigation of their own. "We will be investigating and will report the incident to FIFA," an FA statement said. It was not the first time Hungary fans had caused problems during their meetings with England in the qualifying campaign. England's 4-0 win in Budapest in September was marred by racist chants from Hungarians aimed at Raheem Sterling and Jude Bellingham. Missiles were also thrown at England's players at the Puskas Arena. Hungary were ordered to play two home FIFA competition matches behind closed doors, one suspended for two years, following the racist behaviour. UEFA had already told Hungary to play one game behind closed doors following racist abuse from supporters and homophobic banners in the stands during their Euro 2020 matches in Budapest. Wembley had also been the scene of crowd disorder just months ago when England's defeat against Italy in the final of Euro 2020 was marred by ticketless fans storming the gates to gain entry. Thousands of fans managed to break through Wembley's under-staffed security cordon before the final, while drunken supporters caused havoc outside the stadium hours before kick-off #footballindepth #england #hungary #fa

Crowd Trouble Breaks Out between West Ham & Rapid Vienna Fans during Europa League game
Crowd Trouble Breaks Out between West Ham & Rapid Vienna Fans during Europa League game

Ugly scenes marred West Ham's 2-0 win over Rapid Vienna in the Europa League on Thursday after crowd trouble broke out between rival fans. The first incident during the game broke out in the visiting supporters' end after Declan Rice put the Hammers in front at the London Stadium in the first half. Some away fans tried to storm the home section after the goal, jumping the barriers before being forced back by stewards with the help of the police. Both sets of supporters were seen lobbing objects at each other, including a giant bottled water cooler. West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell also had a few objects thrown at him when he took a corner late in the first half. The trouble began before the match when the away fans antagonised the West Ham supporters and threw bottles at the home section right before a light show at the London Stadium ahead of kick off. The trouble then cranked up after Rice gave West Ham the lead and the home fans began taunting their Austrian visitors, who threw more bottles in response. There were more outbreaks of violence at full-time and riot police were called in to bring an end to the melee. West Ham coach David Moyes said he had seen some of the trouble from pitchside while urging fans to control themselves and protect the club's reputation on the continent. 'I was aware of some things being thrown,' Moyes said. 'We want to be a club regularly in Europe and because of that we want to behave correctly. 'I don't know who started it but we don't want that reputation, we want to be seen as a club who can travel to Europe and everybody welcomes us.' Crowd trouble was a common occurrence when West Ham moved to the London Stadium in 2016, with violence breaking out in Premier League matches against Watford and Middlesbrough. Things came to a head in a League Cup win over Chelsea that same year, when the opposing fans pelted each other with coins and seats were ripped out of the stadium. #footballindepth #westham #rapidvienna #UEL #ultras #declanrice

A Fight broke out between ARSENAL FANS & BURNLEY FANS at Turf Moor after full time
A Fight broke out between ARSENAL FANS & BURNLEY FANS at Turf Moor after full time

Arsenal and Burnley supporters clashed in ugly scenes following the two sides' Premier League match at Turf Moor. Martin Odegaard scored the only goal of the game with an excellent free kick to hand the Gunners an important win, before tension ensued in the stands. The pressure had been piled on Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta following a disappointing start to the season. Sections of Arsenal's support have been unhappy with the Spaniard's management. But the club's fans then clashed following their win over Burnley. The majority of the fighting appeared to take place once referee Anthony Taylor called time on a narrow victory for the North Londoners. Missiles were thrown between both sets of fans, according to witnesses. Most of those objects were apparently empty plastic bottles. Footage posted to social media shows fans bunched in the middle of the stand behind one of the goals at Burnley's Turf Moor stadium. The stand hosts both home and away supporters. Objects can be seen being thrown between supporters, who are separated by a small segregation. Only a few stewards appear to be present. They can be seen struggling to control the situation as it spirals out of control. #footballindepth #burnley #arsenal #arsenalfans #premierleague

Hamilton Explains Why Max’s Penalty Is So Important
Hamilton Explains Why Max’s Penalty Is So Important

One of the biggest talking points after the Italian Grand Prix was the collision between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen that took both drivers out. Max has since been awarded a three place grid penalty for the upcoming race in Sochi and Hamilton has now given his thoughts on this as quoted by F1 Insider Link to poll: https://www.youtube.com/post/UgyFOpu2FpAMrL4tJ6l4AaABCQ 0:00 - Hamilton Proud Of Stewards After Penalty For Max 1:54 - Fast Feed I'm your host Dillon Shelley and first up on Formula World: Hamilton Proud Of Stewards After Penalty For Max Hamilton began by admitting that the halo saved him “I feel very, very fortunate today thank God for the halo. That did ultimately save me, and saved my neck” He then explained why it was a shock to him “I don’t think I’ve ever been hit on the head by a car before, and it’s quite a shock for me. If you’ve seen the image, my head really is quite far forward” He reiterated that he is grateful “I’m so, so grateful that I’m still here. I feel incredibly blessed. I feel like someone was watching over me today” He then spoke about the risks involved in racing “I’ve been racing a long time and we are taking risks out there all the time. I guess it’s only when you experience something like that that you get that real shock of how you look at life and realise how fragile we are” He then reacted to the decision by the stewards to penalise Max Verstappen with a 3-place grid penalty for Sochi “I’m ultimately proud of the stewards. It definitely sets a precedent and I think it’s important for us moving forwards for the safety of the drivers. If you get away with things like that, then it’s easy just to continue to do it” He signed off by giving his thoughts on Max just walking away from scene of the crash without checking on Lewis “That was weird - actually we always want to make sure the guy we crashed into is ok” Fast Feed Max Verstappen feels that they “were racing for position but you need two people to work together to make the corner and Lewis just kept squeezing until there wasn’t room anymore for two cars and that’s when we crashed” “When he exited the pits, he started to squeeze me going into Turn 1 so I had to use the green part of the track. It was very tight but there was room for me to go around the outside and then I was pushed onto the orange sausage kerb”, Max elaborated “I was there to try and race hard but fair. I don’t fully agree with the penalty as I believe it was a racing incident. It’s very unfortunate what happened today but we are both professionals and so we will move on”, he concluded Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has stated that they “are disappointed with the three place grid penalty, but accept the stewards decision” “We felt what happened between Max and Lewis was a genuine racing incident. You can argue for both sides but ultimately it’s frustrating and disappointing to see both cars out of the race in what is proving to be an exciting championship”, he added “The main thing today is that the halo ultimately did its job and certainly this isn’t the way we intended to finish the race” Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff, meanwhile, suggested that as it is known “in football, you call it a tactical foul. [Max] probably knew that if Lewis stays ahead, that is the race win [gone] possibly” “It was clear for Max that his positioning would end in a crash. The stewards have made their decision but it is clear that, without the halo this could have been much worse”, Wolff added He then praised Valtteri Bottas who “did an incredible job coming from P20 and getting a podium for the team. He has been on top form this weekend and P3 from back of the grid is thoroughly deserved” Valtteri Bottas, meanwhile, has revealed that he “told the team that [he] was going to be on the podium so [he’s] glad” “A great recovery from me, I don’t think I’ve made up that many places in a race in my career”, he added “Starting from the back is never easy, and in the end, I am glad we got more points than Red Bull today, especially considering where we were before the race. Probably one of my better weekends with Mercedes”, he concluded Red Bull’s Sergio Perez pointed out that the Italian Grand Prix “was a very eventful race and a real shame to miss out on the podium” “With the penalty, I think we hoped for a wider view in the sense that it was my corner and I was ahead of Charles [Leclerc], but it is what it is” “As a team this wasn’t our track, we weren’t so strong here so now we move on and look forward to Russia. There is still a long way to go in this championship”, Perez stated Is the three-place grid penalty for Max Verstappen justified?
