When an NBA game becomes EMBARRASSING And UNWATCHABLE

Complete miscommunication by the 2 defenders culminating with this situation right here. They trip each other and fall on the floor, leaving a completely wide open dunk. This was the story throughout the entire game for the Hornets, so sit back and let’s break down the breakdown of the Charlotte Hornets. That’s bars for you. What up everybody my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. Right off the bat there were some early signs of laziness on defense, as they went under the screen on literally the deadliest shooter on the Pacers. In a win or go home game- I expect much higher effort defensively. Instead, 3 straight possessions in the 1st, Douggie got some open looks, and got blazing hot early on. But let me show you what’s really bad effort on D. Charlotte allowed Indiana a mind boggling 74 points in the paint. And look at some of these: In transition, look at where all the Pacers are, this is by no means a fast break opportunity. Brogdon calmly jogs all over the court, 4 defenders are back and they still get beat on a backdoor. In particular, P.J. Washington. And watch how many lowlights he’s got in this video. Similar situation, T.J. Mcconnell gets it and look: he’s by no means a speed demon. But look at how he goes coast to coast completely unbothered, against the much bigger Washington and easily lays it in. The Indiana guards got anywhere they wanted on the court. Mcconnell walks his way into an easy shot from the paint, then watch this exhibition type of defense for the Brogdon layup. And again, no complicated set plays, no fancy dribbling, Malcolm just puts his head down and goes to the rim. And similarly to Mcconnell, he’s also not the quickest in the league to put it lightly, but nobody stopping the penetration, no help at all, and yet another 2 easy points. Speaking of him, look at this- straight line drive, no contact, no contest and another layup. But back to P.J. Washington. Check out 2 more backdoor cuts against him in a game where he should be aggressive and tough on defense. Especially this right here. Look at this! How does he get beat so easily by Holiday, and who does he expect to bail him out right here? This is inexcusable. By the end of the third, Mcconnell was running laps all around the Hornets defense, and got the easiest uncontested shots. First right here, and at the end of the quarter by just jogging along the baseline for the wide open inside look. Moving on, if you also look at the boxscore, you’ll see that Indiana shot almost 46% on threes and that also has a lot to do with the way their play in opponents defended them. Check out all of these open threes generated by the easy penetration. And when you have this much room to shoot it, of course you’re gonna hit a large percentage of those shots. Again, as we watch these, there is no fancy strategy involved, or special play calls or nothing like that. This is just lack of effort by the defense and getting beat on the first step, which then creates all of the problems, and eventually the open man. I do have to give a lot of credit to the Pacers as well for their superb ball movement, and great execution of the game plan, doing it even without 3 of their main players in Myles Turner, Caris Levert and T.J. Warren. But I also have to say that Charlotte were so bad in this game that almost the entire second half was garbage time, and this was the only reason why Domantas Sabonis wasn’t able to get a triple double, as he sat out the entire 4th quarter and finished the game with 14 PTS, 21 REB and 9 AST. So after this phenomenal performance, Indiana is 1 step closer to the playoffs and they face the Washington Wizards, for the 8th and final spot in the East. As for Charlotte, this disappointing and flat out embarrassing final game was mostly because of the inexperience and these are some growing pains that a young team like this has to go through. Despite all of that, I love what they have going on, and they’ve been a pleasant surprise this season. The future is bright for them and we’ll see them in the playoffs the following years. Until then, Charlotte will have this game in the back of their minds for a while. Wow, this was a strange video to make honestly. Have You Seen THIS Before? GENIUS PLAY For Luka Doncic

Doncic goes through and Even though the Mavs didn’t score directly off of those, it’s an interesting and creative concept that I haven’t seen before so I knew I needed to feature it in this collection that I’ve made from the last couple of days. What up everybody my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. The Hawks initially run this double screen for the point guard, but as Bogdanovic starts clearing out, you see the quick change of direction and Capella already knows, so after the initial screen, he moves down to set another one for Bogi. The catch, the shot and the three. You can see how the shooter is seemingly just slowly going through the motion at the beginning but in a split second, he starts running back and that’s what catches the defense off guard. I really liked this action from the Cavaliers against Toronto. You can see as the 2 men game is starting to develop up top, OG Anunoby has to keep an eye and try to help on the possible penetration. So Cleveland’s Dean Wade sets a back screen for Isaac Okoro. BTW guys I’m well aware that only Cavs fans know these players but bear with me. Anyway, Okoro is uncontested for a three right here, but he sees the lane being open and cuts inside. The pass and the easy layup. As we let the play roll one more time, check out how many options they got in this moment. The layup inside, and the 2 shooters out. Beautiful play design and execution from the Cleveland Cavaliers. And speaking of cuts, it’s not often that I see a big man sneaking up like this, just like a guard would. On the pick and roll, you can see all the attention from the defense being there. So as Shroder penetrates, Andre Drummond, tip toes behind his defender going from one side of the basket to the other. Dennis keeps his head up and sees this, so dishes it out to the big man for the finish. Next, Not really a set design here, but check out the awareness by Rajon Rondo. With 5 seconds on the shot clock, Paul George gets stuck and throws a crosscourt pass towards him. In this moment, Rondo sees Terrance Mann open in the corner, but knows that the clock is running down, so he just flips it straight to him with a touch pass. Mann is able to get it up before the buzzer and knock down the three. Great awareness by Rondo, pulling another awesome move from his bag of tricks. Moving on, just look at the beautiful movement by Minesotta. We got the hand off to start things off, then you have a quick pass to Towns, and the guards are crossing around him at the three point line. This ends with a great looking acrobatic layup but the shooter was open up top as well. Check out this lightning quick development in full speed. Next, keep your eye on P.J. Washington who’s gonna set a quick screen here, then immediately cut inside and screen for Rozier, and as you can see he forces a switch in both situations, so at the end P.J. is left with the much smaller Jrue Holiday under the basket. Gets the pass, bumps and finishes with the hook. Again, it all happens in the blink of an eye, and you can see how much a second is worth in this league. Ok I know, that I focus on great offense in these videos, but check out one instance of terrible defense, that made me watch this play a few times to see how the Rockets got the easiest points. The Timberwolves got faked out with the simplest hand off and that creates a 2 on 1 situation against Towns that ends up with a dunk by Christian Wood. You can see Okogie signaling right here to McLaughlin to stay there but I guess he didn’t see that, resulting in an open lane and 2 points for the Rockets. At the end, I feel like Doug Mcdermott is always on these videos. His off ball movement and the screening that the Pacers run for him, allows for some easy points. It happened again last night against Portland. As he comes off of the double screen, Dougie is open for the shot right here, but he uses the momentum and acceleration to continue all the way to the basket and go past Carmelo and finish with the layup. Hey, I always enjoy making these videos but I’m tinkering with the concept. How often I should make them, how long, how many days to include stuff like that. Lebron James Is EXHAUSTED & Lakers Are In TROUBLE!

Lebron vs Obama clip Although this was said as a joke, we all pretty much knew that this is the plan. To be as rested as possible, so that James can once again perform at the highest level when it matters the most. In the playoffs. Davis helps carry the load and the Lakers easily go through the season. Sounds like a great plan. However all of that went out the window when AD got injured as James is all of a sudden playing heavy minutes and exhausting himself at 36 years of age- just to keep the Lakers competitive in the west. And they’re paying the price for it. Let me explain. What up everybody my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it. The guys in purple in gold have now dropped 3 straight games. If we can somehow justify the two against the Brooklyn Nets, and the Miami Heat, then this last one against the Washington Wizards in which they had a 17 point lead at one point is definitely a surprise. But should it be? LA looked lost at times when Lebron was on the bench or wasn’t directly involved in the offensive possessions. So that forced the coach Frank Vogel to play him 43 minutes. And in the last 9 games he’s played 4 games over 40 minutes. This is a huge workload for a player at this stage of his career, even considering that we’re talking about Superman himself. Check out this staggering impact that Anthony Davis’s injury had on Lebron. When the brow is playing- James ranks 50th in the league in minutes per game. However with him sidelined the king is #1 in the league in that category. And again, all that just to try to have this team be competitive, although as of late, even that isn’t helping them much. There are times where you can clearly see him being impacted by it whether in game, and he even laid on the video board during a time out to try and rest up a little. Against the Wizards James gave everything he had on this drive to tie the game scoring through contact. And he had the win in his hands pretty much with a free throw with less than 10 seconds to go. Buuut the fatigue caught up to him and he missed it. Leaving us to watch more drama in the overtime period. Anyway, after the game Lebron was explicit in denying the fact that he’s tired, or that he needs rest, or that the team is in trouble. But is he right about it? The fact of the matter is that the Lakers are already on a 3 game losing streak, with their next 3 games being against the hottest team in the league in Utah Jazz, then they play Dame Lillard and the Blazers, and to top it off, a game against Steph Curry and the Warriors. So things are definitely not gonna get any easier for this team. Anthony Davis will be sidelined for a longer period of time. He was originally given a 2-3 week timetable, but after re-evaluating him, the prognosis indicate that he’ll definitely miss more than that. And Dennis Schroder will be out for at least the first of these 3 games as he’s in the contact tracing protocol so if he continues to test negative, the quickest he could be back is against the Blazers, meaning that they’ll miss him on the perimeter against an explosive guy like Donovan Mitchell. And this game against Utah is more important than it seems at first sight. Let me explain why. If you look at the standings right now, the Jazz have a comfortable lead in front of the 2 LA teams, and that gap could get even wider with a win on Wednesday. And you may already asume where I’m going with this. Although there is still a lot to play in this season, if Utah manages to keep the top spot in the West, that means that there will most likely be a second round showdown between the Lakers and the Clippers. Which is of course yet another complication for them, in addition to the injuries and the overall up and down season so far. Sure, barring a meltdown like the Clippers had last year, Lebron and company would need to go through them to go to the finals anyway, but it would be much easier if they had 2 quick playoff rounds like they had in the bubble when they went 4-1 in each round on their way to the conference finals. So yeah, it remains to be seen how long the brow will be absent from the court, and if the Lakers try to adjust Lebron’s minutes in order to preserve him for the playoffs, even if that means losing a few more games, and being a lower seed. There’s also talk about getting Demarcus Cousins. Who knows. Let me know what do you think about this whole situation and what will happen at the end.
