Their designated finishers Miller and Tewatia have had less game time and if the CSK bowlers manage to dismantle GT’s top order quickly it will be a stern test for them. The pressure of a finale can make even the best susceptible. What can perhaps worry CSK? A team that finished second after the league stages and then made it straight to the final generally don’t have too many weaknesses. However the success of their top-order has meant the middle order has had very little batting. Good length around off Pandya stays put and crunches it through covers for a boundary. Quality shot! A touch fuller around middle and over 142 clicks. Gill just leans in a bit and flicks it brilliantly in front of mid-wicket for a boundary. Gill is on the front foot here taking toll on Chahar. Bowls a length ball outside off. Gill gets on the front foot and swings hard with a pick up pull. Plays it over the mid-wicket fielder and gets another four. GT skipper bites the dust! Excellent captaincy from MS Dhoni to add an extra fielder in the off-side prior to this ball. Quicker one on a length outside off. Pandya stays on the back foot and throws his hands at it trying to pierce the cut through the in-field. Gets an outside edge which flies towards Jadeja at backward point. One of the best fielders in the word sorry the best fielder in the world Jaddu doesn't make any mistakes and won't do mistakes for the most part of the game. Around the wicket. Slightly slower and on a length turning away a bit outside off. Gill rocks back and cuts it hard finding the gap behind square on the off-side. It reaches the boundary in a flash. Gaikwad Conway Rahane and Dube have been among the runs. In fact the resurgence of Rahane has boosted their middle over play as he's striking at close to 200. Tushar Deshpande is another player who has excelled under Dhoni and is the highest wicket-taker in the team while Jadeja has been a bank with the ball. A brilliant batting display from the Rajasthan Royals comes to an end as they post a mammoth 202 on the board the highest total on this ground in IPL. The foundation was laid by Yashasvi Jaiswal at the start and cameos from Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel at the back end of the innings have helped them finish with a flourish. The Chennai Super Kings have an uphill task ahead of them. Batting first the Royals got off to a sensational start thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal. The youngster from Mumbai came out all guns blazing and hit some glorious shots up front. He struck at a brisk rate and his opening partner Jos Buttler played the role of a second fiddle. The Royals scored 64 at the end of the powerplay. There was no stopping Jaiswal as he continued playing his strokes after the fielding restrictions. He brought up his fifty off just 26 balls. Ravindra Jadeja broke the 86-run opening stand when he dismissed Buttler on 27. Skipper Sanju Samson departed on a run-a-ball 17 in the 14th over. Tushar Deshpande dismissed Jaiswal on a 43-ball 77 in the same over which helped CSK to get back in the contest. The Super Kings bowled well and the Royals lost Shimron Hetmyer (8) in the 17th over who was promoted up the order. Devdutt Padikkal joined Dhruv Jurel and both played some excellent shots. Both Padikkal (27* off 13 balls) and Jurel (34 off 15 balls) hit some lusty blows at the end to power their side to 202 at the end of their 20 overs. The Super Kings picked up five wickets in total with Deshpande finishing with two. They went on a journey throughout their innings. An odd ball is turning and gripping but the surface looks good for batting. The Super Kings will have to create history tonight as they will be chasing the highest total at this venue.
