The 1st year head coach takes time to speak with the press after the Atlanta Gladiators lose by a 3-1 score to the South Carolina Stingrays. The loss ends their post-season run as they lose the series 4-2. Four of the games are decided by one goal, and while the season ends sooner than preferred, there's a lot to build upon. This marks their first post-season appearance in 4 years and they are clearly building a culture and winning environment where they expect to develop talent and compete for meaningful post-season games in May and June in pursuit of the ECHL Championship, the Kelly Cup.
The dust is beginning to settle as baseball enters the month of May. Each team has roughly a 30-game sample size and the cream of the crop is rising to the top. The NL Central continues to be the best division in baseball, with the St. Louis Cardinals being unexpectedly competitive. The big markets of the New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs are separating themselves as early contenders; smaller markets like the Tampa Bay Rays and Cincinnati Reds are in hot pursuit. So many unexpected teams excelling while others with high expectations continue to disappoint is what has made the start of the 2026 MLB season so much fun. Penn State football is still working through its 2027 quarterback recruiting board, and Peter Bourque remains one of the biggest names to watch. But with Auburn and Ohio State now involved, the Nittany Lions may have a real decision to make as Bourque’s recruitment continues to gain national attention. On this Locked On crossover, Zach Seyko and Zac Blackerby break down Penn State’s pursuit of Peter Bourque, Auburn’s push at quarterback, Ohio State’s possible involvement, Will Wood’s rise as a legitimate Penn State QB option, and how NIL, early playing time, and quarterback depth could shape the 2027 recruiting cycle. This matters because Penn State cannot afford to miss on multiple quarterback targets while the rest of the 2027 QB market starts to settle. If Bourque wants to extend the process, Penn State may need to decide how aggressively it wants to pursue Will Wood before another program gets involved. Penn State fans: would you keep pushing for Peter Bourque, or would you move quickly on Will Wood? Become an every-dayer!
