James Harden - Hit Ahead Passes 16/17
James Harden - Hit Ahead Passes 16/17

James Harden. 3x All-NBA First Team. 5x NBA All-Star. All-NBA Third Team in 2013. Sixth Man of the Year in 2012. Two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Runner Up. 2x USA Basketball Gold Medalist (2012 Olympics in London and the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain). In 2015, the NBA Players Association voted on who they felt was the MVP of the league, and Harden was the first to win an MVP award voted on by his NBA peers. The Beard bamboozled defenses this past season with the move to point guard. He’s so unselfish with his early hit ahead passes that when they offense does flow the ball back to him, the defense is no longer set and he can just pick apart the pieces. He’ll attack gaps and exploit ANY type of open space with an arsenal of absolutely abusive moves. Basically, when Harden wants space, you can either give it to him, or he’ll literally shake you down until he gets it. The point is this video is simple: Harden and his hit ahead passes had Houston rocketing opposing defenses with their early offense, and I wanted to show how that happens. James averaged career best numbers across the board, with his 29.1 points per game (2nd in the league), 8.1 rebounds per (JUST outside of the top 20), and 11.2 assist per game (best in the league). He had history in his hands until Russell Westbrook ripped it from him. While everyone was focusing on Westbrook’s wondrous triple-doubles, Harden was on pace to finish the season as the league leader in both points AND assists, something that hadn’t been done since Nate Archibald’s 1972-73 season with the Kansas City-Omaha Kings. In terms of semi-advanced stats, Harden posted a Player Efficiency Rating (PER) of 27.4 (good for top 5 in the league, just a shade better than LeBron James this year), led the league in win shares and offensive win shares, and had a true shooting percentage of 61.3% (good for top 20 in the league. Below guys like Isaiah Thomas, Steph Curry, and Chris Paul, but WELL above Russell Westbrook (55.4, if you’re wondering)).

Oklahoma State vs. South Alabama football: Time, TV schedule, game preview, score
Oklahoma State vs. South Alabama football: Time, TV schedule, game preview, score

Une attaque de Cowboys puissante prend l'Alabama du Sud With a Heisman Trophy candidate at quarterback and a strong running game, No. 11 Oklahoma State tries to flaunt its newfound balanced attack when it visits South Alabama on Friday night. The Cowboys were 66th nationally in rushing last season at 170.8 yards per game, but gained nearly double that amount (332) in their season-opening 59-24 victory over Tulsa. Oklahoma State senior quarterback Mason Rudolph, who was 20-for-24 for 303 yards and three touchdowns against the Golden Hurricane after directing the country's No. 8 passing attack in 2016, watched his club pile up 332 yards rushing. TV: 8 p.m. ET, ESPN2. LINE: Oklahoma State -28 Sophomore running back Justice Hill led the way with 132 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries as Cowboys coach Mike Gundy already sees a strong cohesiveness in his offensive unit. "I'm confident that we have good leadership and that there's enough, for lack of a better term, peer pressure to want to perform at a higher level,'' coach Mike Gundy told reporters. "These guys care about each other and we have some great team chemistry early in the season." The Jaguars, picked to finish fourth in the Sun Belt Conference, recorded a turnover-free performance and trailed by only three at halftime before succumbing to Ole Miss 47-27 in their opener. ABOUT OKLAHOMA STATE (1-0) The Cowboys will attack South Alabama with three running backs that gained at least 92 yards last week, including freshmen J.D. King (six carries, 95 yards, one touchdown) and La'Darren Brown (five, 92, one). “It’s been great,” Rudolph told reporters. “I kind of wanted to see the freshman guys come out and play, and J.D. answered the bell, as well as L.D. getting the first few snaps of his career." Senior wide receiver James Washington, who eclipsed 1,000 yards the last two seasons, should have little trouble getting there in 2017 after recording 145 yards and two touchdowns on six catches last week. ABOUT SOUTH ALABAMA (0-1) The Jaguars need another strong performance from senior safety Jeremy Reaves, who became the fifth player in school history to record 200 career tackles after registering eight but was part of a defense that yielded more than 400 passing yards (429). Sophomore running back Tra Minter gained 83 yards on 12 carries in his South Alabama debut, spearheading a ground attack that totaled 170 yards. Junior quarterback Cole Garvin threw for one touchdown and rushed for two versus the Rebels. EXTRA POINTS 1. Oklahoma State has scored 20 or more points in 30 straight games -- the second-longest streak in the nation (Oregon, 41). 2. The Jaguars engineered a 19-play, 95-yard scoring drive (field goal) in 9 minutes, 40 seconds versus Ole Miss, the longest drive by plays and time in school history. 3. The Cowboys are 15-1 versus the Sun Belt Conference, losing at Troy (41-23) in 2007. PREDICTION: Oklahoma State 48, South Alabama 20

Dear Basketball: The Legend of Kobe Bryant (Oscar Mix)
Dear Basketball: The Legend of Kobe Bryant (Oscar Mix)

Thank you, Kobe. For all those nights where I sat in front of a flickering television, finding excitement and wonder from the craft you dedicated your life to. In your high flying highlights I found respite from a world that can be oh so cruel. Thank you, Kobe. For making post moves and footwork cool again. For taking the fadeaway jumper and perfecting it down to a science. For making every time I throw a piece of paper into a trashcan into the greatest show on earth. "KOBE!" Thank you, Kobe. For being human & frustrated at times & disappointing people & lifting them up when you think you cannot take anymore or go on any longer. For being imperfect, and having flaws that I could relate to. For being brave & stubborn & arrogant at times but always striving to be the best. Thank you, Kobe. For showing us that an 18 year old kid could grow old with the game. For never backing down. Not from Michael, not from Shaq, not from LeBron, not from any challenge or obstacle that you faced. Thank you, Kobe. For giving me nights to look forward to, where my father & I shared a passion for the game, watching you take over Staples Center as the sun set over Hollywood & you wrote your name in the stars. For enthralling me so much so that I would beg my father just to stay up to watch your highlights. Thank you, Kobe. For letting me get so lost in the story, the pain, the beauty, the suffering, and the triumphs. For playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers. For hitting game winner after game winner after game winner. Thank you, Kobe. For letting us glimpse your maniacal drive. For willing the Lakers to the finish line. For teaching us the heart of perseverance of a true warrior. For making me laugh, and cry and feel that feeling in my stomach whenever you were in down but never out. Thank you, Kobe. For playing through all your injuries. For playing with a broken finger, playing on one leg, shooting those free throws without the tendon that even a Greek god needs intact. For pushing further and further, and digging deeper and deeper, when it seemed like there was no where else to go. Thank you, Kobe. For making me believe in magic. For showing us that an 81 point game, is more than something you can just do in a video game. For making 40 point scoring outbursts look routine, not just once or twice, but for weeks and months at a time. For outscoring teams on your own. For leaving it all out on the court. Thank you, Kobe. For bringing the nation back to it's golden roots. For making us believe in dreams again. For sacrificing your body on defense and setting an example. For making every other player question why they weren't working as hard as you. Thank you, Kobe. For showing us the beauty in the pain of this thing. For bringing us to the promised land five times. For showing us, that sometimes you fall, sometimes you don't win and that is okay because you might lose the battle, but you will win the war. Thank you, Kobe. For being all mine, and everyone else's who tuned in night after night to watch you leave your mark on the game of basketball. For being our childhood hero. For making it look so easy, when no one saw the countless hours you put in before you stepped on the stage. For working until your heroes became your peers, and the legends made you one of them. Thank you, Kobe. For squeezing every ounce of potential from your body. For showing us that we are never out of it. For making us believe that no matter what, you could hit the game winner, make your classic Mamba face, and save the day. Thank you, Kobe. For showing me that heroes come and go, but legends are forever. Thank you for simply being there. For simply being you, imperfections and all. There will never be another. Dedicated to two of my childhood heroes. My late grandmother who taught me to never stop working and dedicate yourself to your goals, and to the Mamba who taught me that anything is possible if you believe in yourself. _______________________________________ Poster - https://twitter.com/Bballforeverfb/status/678835163263053824 Song - Experience by Ludovico Einaudi Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/BasketballForeverPage Twitter - https://twitter.com/Bballforeverfb Website - http://basketballforever.com/ Make sure to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE for more! CANADA BASKETBALL ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNERSHIP Junior Men`s National Team testing by Sport Testing Inc. Toronto, ON -- June 12 - Canada Basketball today announced a partnership with Sport Testing Inc. to provide basketball-specific athletic performance testing across its national programs. Athletic performance testing is increasingly used by amateur and professional sports associations across North America, giving athletes and coaches a wealth of individualized information to assess an athlete's capability as part of developing personalized training programs and promoting talent in an organization. Sport Testing Inc. is the industry standard for sports testing - eliminating guesswork for athletes, coaches and scouts in benchmarking performance at every level of sport. Tests designed by the Sport Testing's experts simulate game play to scientifically assess skills and fitness. Athletes are typically invited to events known as "sport combines" that combine certain sport specific conditioning drills to determine speed, strength and skill level depending on the sport. "Sport Testing is respected for conducting professional combines across many sports. Its highly accurate testing technology, comprehensive data collection and analysis, and staff expertise made them the obvious choice," said Michele O'Keefe, Executive Director at Canada Basketball. "Together with Sport Testing, we will be able to give our young hopefuls detailed information about their performance and progress as they develop." Canada Basketball, which recently announced Victoria-born NBA star Steve Nash as the new GM for its senior men's program, will use the results of these assessments as an important tool in identifying top talent. "We are looking forward to our partnership with an organization that shares our enthusiasm and vision," said Jonathon Hollins, President of Sport Testing. "Our combines are becoming essential in all sports. Athletes, coaches, scouts and even parents want to know where athletes stand among their peers, as well as their progress over time." Canada Basketball and Sport Testing will operate talent identification testing combines throughout Canada with stops in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax. All Canada Basketball athletes will be invited to attend these combines and participate in basketball-specific testing protocols that assess the athletes' endurance, reaction times, speed, agility and strength.
