If the chairman of RCB is to be believed, then Kohli can lead the team in the Indian Premier League-2022. Earlier there was discussion that Shreyas Iyer or Glenn Maxwell can be made the captain of RCB. At the same time, there were some reports in which there was talk of making Kohli the captain of the team again. The RCB chairman said, ‘Virat Kohli has led the team in many memorable seasons. Under his leadership, the team won many matches. We might prefer to have him as the captain. We will try to convince him to take back the captaincy. Let us tell you that the mega auction of IPL-2022 will be held on February 12 and 13. Talking about Kohli, he had announced to leave the captaincy of RCB last year. RCB chairman Prathamesh Mishra clarified all these reports saying that if Virat Kohli agrees to the captaincy role, he will be the captain for RCB. Otherwise we will have to find the captain through auction. Virat Kohli took over the captaincy of RCB in 2013. Kohli captained RCB in 8 seasons. But he could not get the team the trophy even once. கண்டிப்பா பாருங்க.. Interesting TCN Short videos.. New team name #ipl #ipl2022 #iplmegaauction #ipl2022tamil #iplschedule #iplnews #vivoipl IPL 2022: New franchises given January 22 deadline to conclude retention process The two new IPL franchises – Lucknow and Ahmedabad – have been given time until January 22 to complete their retention process ahead of the mega auction before the 15th edition of the tournament. The confirmation comes two days after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave the final go-ahead to the CVC Capitals-owned Ahmedabad franchise, as they issued the Letter of Intent, which was delayed following the emergence of the company’s linkages with companies outside India that had given birth to a controversy. The new franchises were originally supposed to be given a two-week window for picking the players, although it is understood that the board and respective team managements have agreed that 10 days will be sufficient for it. As it stands, the new franchises have time till 5 pm on January 22 to conclude the process. The mega auction, the organising of which was under doubt owing to the significant upsurge of Covid-19 cases in India, is understood to go underway as per plans on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. While various reports suggesting the likelihood of it going outside India, IPL chairman Brijesh Patel silenced the claims on January 11, the same day when IPL also found a new sponsor in Tata Group, the Indian business conglomerate, after the pull-out of Vivo. With the CVC Capital-Ahmedabad franchise issue all set to be cleared by next week, BCCI has set January 31 deadline for the two new franchises from announcing their first three picks before IPL 2022 Auction. BCCI earlier set December 25 deadline for the two new franchises to sign three new players. However, the pending issue with CVC Capital’s Ahmedabad franchise deal meant the deadline got extended. The BCCI is yet to officially announce the date. However, InsideSport has learnt that IPL Governing Council has approved January 31 as the deadline. It was possible after US-based CVC Capital was cleared by the BCCI’s independent committee. The firm won the bidding rights to the Ahmedabad franchise in October but was subjected to a probe by BCCI for its alleged ties with betting companies. After BCCI’s independent committee gave the firm green signal, it will sign a fresh contract with the Indian board coming week. InsideSport has learnt that the franchise officials are in Mumbai to sign the IPL franchise contract. “Some additional clauses are being added to the contract. Legal teams of both sides have agreed on the new drafts. We should complete the signing process next week,” a top BCCI official told.
