Donovan Wilson could be the Cowboys next great find at safety in the sixth round There’s a safety on the Dallas Cowboys roster that the team drafted in the sixth round who has recently been making a lot of headlines as the regular season approaches. While this is definitely true for Xavier Woods, it’s also true for rookie Donovan Wilson. The Cowboys may have done it again. Dallas has refused to invest legitimate resources (legitimate being a top pick) in recent years at the safety position (although Byron Jones is an arguable case) and has instead elected to try to figure it out the old-fashioned way. This philosophy led them to Woods and has now led them to what looks like could be a future starter for them in Wilson. Wilson has yet to even play in the regular season for the Cowboys yet the conversation with him has shifted from “he’s probably going to make the roster, right?” all the way to “how long is it until he’s starting?”. Sometimes, it can happen that fast. Donovan Wilson can’t stop making plays The latest instance of Wilson’s ascension to greatness (we’re having fun, relax everyone!) came on Saturday night against the Houston Texans. What looked like an errant pass become a moment none of us will ever forget when Wilson came flying through the air for an incredible interception.

The Stanley Cup will be awarded on Wednesday, and we're giving you our pick for which team will win Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final between the St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins! St. Louis had an opportunity to close out the Stanley Cup Final at home in Game 6, but it was Boston picking up a road win instead. The Bruins turned a 1-0 lead at the end of the first period into a 5-1 victory to force Game 7. Each team has played in a single Game 7 so far this postseason, with St. Louis knocking out Dallas in Round 2 and Boston defeating Toronto in Round 1. In both instances, the home team won Game 7. But home ice advantage hasn't meant much in this series, as both the Blues and the Bruins are (1-2) in home games so far. The one stat that may carry some weight is this: the team that won Game 6 went on to win Game 7 in four out of five series this postseason. Domantas Sabonis gave various members of the Chicago Bulls his "Saboner" in this game. Saboner-giving Instance #1: At 0:32, Sabonis gives his Saboner to Wendell Carter Jr. for the easy bucket off the strong post move and ball fake. Except it was more like his "Sabonass" than his "Saboner". Saboner-giving Instance #2: At 0:53, Sabonis gives his Saboner to the entire five-man lineup that the Bulls had on the court at the time. It was a total collapse of team defense that led to Sabonis rising up for an uncontested power pump. Zach Lavine possibly received a larger share of the Saboner by being the one who was foolish enough to foul. Saboner-giving Instance #2: At 1:43, Sabonis gives his Saboner to Lauri Markkanen, who didn't rotate over nearly fast enough. It's a good thing he didn't, though, because nothing was going to stop Sabonis' throbbing, hard-hitting Saboner on this drive to the basket. Markkanen might have died if he had tried to get in on that poster, and the close ties of Finland and Lithuania would have been irrecoverably broken. As you can see from the above outline, Saboners were received by a large portion of the Bulls' team, and that's not even including all the times that Sabonis used his Saboner in order to steal rebounds away from the weak, pathetic hands of the Bulls. The entire game was truly Sabonerific. All clips property of the NBA. No copyright infringement is intended. Check out http://downtobuck.net !
Celtic demand referee John Beaton explain why Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos avoided action. Celtic called on referee John Beaton to publicly explain why he let Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos off the hook. The Colombian international appeared to kick Parkhead skipper Scott Brown, stand on Anthony Ralston and flick out his hand at Ryan Christie's groin during last Saturday's 1-0 Old Firm victory for Steven Gerrard's side at Ibrox. But 22-year-old Morelos escaped retrospective SFA punishment because Beaton confirmed that he had witnessed all three incidents at the time. Expressing 'surprise' that the official had failed to take action against Morelos, Celtic released a strongly-worded statement in which they called for transparency - and a meeting with SFA chief executive Ian Maxwell and head of refereeing John Fleming. 'It is reported that no action was taken because the match referee saw all of the incidents in question,' the club's statement read. 'Given that the referee took no action at the time, this tends to suggest that such conduct, which in one instance led to a Celtic player, Anthony Ralston, being injured, is acceptable in Scottish football. That cannot be right. 'On the day, Celtic did not play well enough to win the match, something we accept. However, this issue goes beyond the result of the match. 'Celtic is not the only club this season to raise concerns regarding the standard of officiating at matches in Scotland, concerns which have also been shared by many commentators on the game.' Rangers were last month fined £6,000 after they released a statement which expressed stinging criticism of referee Willie Collum after he sent off Daniel Candeias during November's win over St Mirren. The Ibrox club also vowed to continue with their campaign to allow disputed yellow cards to be contested. Kilmarnock, Hearts, Aberdeen and Motherwell have also been critical of standards of officiating in Scottish football this season - and Celtic are now the latest club to seek discussions with the governing body on the issue. The Parkhead statement continued: 'In order to fully understand what is going on, Celtic, our supporters, Scottish clubs and the general Scottish football public need transparency in these matters. 'We therefore call on the Scottish FA to allow the referee, John Beaton, to explain these decisions publicly as well as any match officials involved in other similar circumstances. 'In the meantime, we have requested a meeting with Scottish FA chief executive, Ian Maxwell, and the Association's head of refereeing.' The SFA issued a response to Celtic last night, saying it was agreed last month that a meeting involving managers, referees and PFA Scotland is to be arranged in a bid to heal the current rift between clubs and match officials. The SFA statement added: 'We welcome discussion with any of our member clubs. 'The board discussed this last month and it was agreed that we would arrange a meeting involving stakeholders including managers, our Referee Operations department and PFA Scotland. 'This will be an excellent opportunity to open dialogue, answer questions and discuss opportunities to improve our game.'
