The Temba Bavuma-led unit has been looking to test their bench strength throughout this series, and that can be an excuse for their dismal performance. Still, it is a solid squad that has a plethora of match-winners. Saim Ayub's cracking century and Agha Salman's all-round show overshadowed a Klaasen special at the Boland Park, where the visitors held their nerves to win the thrilling series opener by three wickets. Abdullah Shafique was out for a duck in both the ODIs and to Marco Jansen. It would be a matter of concern for the management ahead of the Pink ODI. Saim Ayub got a start in the second game after returning Bavuma put the Men in Green to have a bat. Babar Azam and Rizwan rebuilt, both getting much-needed half-centuries. Agha Salman continued his excellent form, but it was Kamran Ghulam's whirlwind fifty that shifted the momentum completely and helped Pakistan to get a score that wasn't imagined early on. The tourists failed to play the entire 50 overs, but they hammered 329 before getting bundled with a ball remaining. Debutant Kwena Maphaka and Marco Jansen were taken to the cleaners, and they shared 7 wickets in the process. Bjorn Fortuin bowled a decent spell and grabbed a wicket, as did Andile Phehlukwayo. Fortuin walked off the field after finishing his bowling quota due to some hamstring concerns but did come to bat later in the game.
