US$2M CONTRACT SIGNED FOR DESIGN OF CORENTYNE RIVER BRIDGE
A US$2 million contract was inked on Wednesday in Suriname for the feasibility study and design of the Corentyne River Bridge. Die vergangene Woche hatte fantechnisch viel zu bieten: Dortmund und Union Berlin international, das Flutlichtspiel zwischen Schalke 04 und Dynamo Dresden, das Derby zwischen dem FC St. Pauli und dem FC Hansa Rostock sowie die Rückkehr der Stuttgarter Ultras – viel Spaß in der längsten Fanschau aller Zeiten! Ajax Amsterdam – Borussia Dortmund: Die Fans von Borussia Dortmund reisten in der Champions League nach Amsterdam und marschierten mit einem Fanmarsch zum Stadion. Im Johann-Cruyff-Stadion zeigten beide Fanlager beeindruckende Pyro-Shows, doch nur die Ajax-Spieler brannten auch auf dem Platz ein Feuerwerk ab und gewannen 4:0 gegen den BVB. Feyenoord Rotterdam – Union Berlin: Union Berlin musste in der neu geschaffenen Europa Conference League ebenfalls in die Niederlande reisen und trat bei Feyenoord Rotterdam an. Bereits in der Nacht vor dem Spiel wurde eine Union-Delegation rund um Präsident Dirk Zingler von Feyenoord-Hooligans angegriffen. Am Spieltag selbst zogen die Union-Fans mit einem Fanmarsch zum Stadion. Bei der Ankunft am Stadion bzw. beim Einlass gibt einen Polizeieinsatz, bei dem mehrere Union Berlin Fans verletzt wurden. Schalke 04 – Dynamo Dresden: Flutlichtspiel, 54.000 Zuschauer, Rückkehr der Ultras Gelsenkirchen und zigtausende Schlachtenbummler aus Dresden - nur einige Punkte, welche die Behörden in Panik versetzen und ordentlich für Muffensausen gesorgt haben. Die Polizei stimmte dem Sicherheitskonzept nur zu, wenn der FC Schalke auf den Ausschank von alkoholischen Getränken verzichtet. Zudem erlies die Stadt (aufgrund einer befürchteten Motto-Fahrt der Dresdner) Gelsenkirchen ein generelles Verbot von Fanmärschen (welches durch das neue Gesetz in NRW möglich ist) - man hatte wohl die Bilder vom Krieg dem DFB Marsch in Karlsruhe im Kopf. Die Polizei schrieb Hotels an, um die möglichen Unterkünfte von Dynamo-Fans herauszufinden. Am Spieltag selbst wurden dann von der Polizei alle möglichen Geschütze aufgefahren: 1.500 Polizeibeamte, Polizeihubschrauber, Wasserwerfer etc.; der Gästeblock wurde abgeriegelt, Busse der anreisenden Dynamo-Fans stundenlang festgesetzt und nach den erfolgten Personenfeststellungen zum Gästeblock eskortiert. FC St. Pauli – Hansa Rostock: Nachdem die Hansa-Fanszene angekündigt hat, aufgrund der 2G Regel nicht zum Derby zu reisen, hat der Verein aus Solidarität das volle Kartenkontingent für den Gästeblock an die Hausherren zurückgeschickt. In der Nacht vor dem Spiel sind einige Hansa-Fans nach Hamburg gereist, um Grußbotschaften wie „Scheiß St. Pauli“ und „Paulischweine“ inkl. einem abgetrennten Schweinekopf in der Hansestadt anzubringen. Am Derbytag waren trotz der Ankündigung der Rostocker Fanszene 1.500 Polizisten im Einsatz, um das Derby abzusichern. Diese wurden allen Anscheins nach auch benötigt, da mehr als 300 Rostock-Hooligans nach St. Pauli gereist waren und im Mob über die Reeperbahn marschierten. Die Polizei nahm von hunderten FCH-Fans die Personalien auf und schickte sie zurück nach Rostock. Im Stadion selbst zeigten die Südkurve eine Choreo und eine beeindruckende Pyro-Show. 1. FC Magdeburg – Viktoria Berlin: Beim Heimspiel gegen Viktoria Berlin erinnerten die Fans des 1. FC Magdeburg an Hannes, der im Oktober vor 5 Jahren bei einem tragischen Unglück ums Leben gekommen war. Unter dem Motto "Die Fans des 1. FCM sind nie allein - das war so und so wird es immer sein!" zündete der Block U dutzende blaue Bengalos, um an ihren verstorbenen Weggefährten zu gedenken. Dieser war im Oktober 2016 in ein Abteil mit HFC-Fans geraten und ist aus bis heute nicht geklärten Umständen aus dem fahrenden Zug gesprungen und letztlich an seinen Verletzungen im Krankenhaus verstorben. #RIPHannes VfB Stuttgart – Union Berlin: Am Sonntag-Abend kehrten die Gruppen der Cannstatter Kurve wieder ins Neckarstadion zurück. Nach einem gemeinsamen Fanmarsch (Karawane Cannstatt light) stimmte man sich im Bauch der Kurve gemeinsam auf die Rückkehr ein und lernte neues Liedgut ein. Zu Beginn des Spiels wurden in der Cannstatter Kurve rote Rauchtöpfe. Boca Juniors' players were involved in a sensational bust-up following a Copa Libertadores defeat as former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo was seen punching a member of security. Boca were left incensed after a goal from Marcelo Weigandt was controversially ruled out by VAR in the second-leg of their round of 16 tie against Brazilian side Atletico Mineirao. The match went to penalties where Boca were defeated 3-1 and the evening soon descended into chaos as the Argentine side tried to break into the Mineirao dressing room before later clashing with police, who were forced to use tear gas in response. Reports in Argentinian media outlet La Nacion suggested that events took a turn for the worse when Sergio Coelho, President of Atletico Mineirao, provoked the Boca players from the doorway of their dressing room. This lead to an initial reaction from Boca's Raúl Cascini and players were seen on video shoving each other and throwing items. Police attempted to intervene in a bid to diffuse the escalating violence and they used tear gas cannisters in their effort to do so. The Brazilian police attempted to arrest two of Boca's players, Sebastián Villa and Carlos Zambrano, but no one was detained. Zambrano later took to his Twitter account where he labelled the disallowed goal and events that followed: 'A disgrace, an abuse, a disaster.' Boca legend Juan Roman Riquelme, the club's vice-president, came to the defence of his side following the ugly clashes with police. 'When they were in the dressing room, you see a person in a suit who pushed the boys and insults them. The policemen threw gas in the players' faces. 'They gas, what do you do? Do you defend yourself or do you let them hit you? You see the president throwing bottles, the police... they don't say anything to them. That's the truth.' Santiago Mayor, a Belo Horizonte police officer, told TyC Sports: 'We have information that the match delegate said there was an aggression and at least three Boca players were identified as the aggressors. 'There are videos that show that there was contempt'. In the subsequent press conference Boca Juniors boss Miguel Russo insisted his squad would not return to Argentina until all were able to do so. 'Either we all leave or none of us leave,' he said, following reports two players were of interest to police. Shortly after midnight, a tweet by Mineiro's official Twitter account toned down the scandal. 'After a long negotiation, mediated by president Sérgio Coelho, and the Argentinian delegation went to the police station to report an incident for property damage and aggression.
