Mason Miller made history in Mexico City! The Padres closer set the all-time Padres record for consecutive scoreless innings during the Diamondbacks series, and he wasn't the only one putting on a show south of the border! Ty France hit two home runs. Manny Machado hit two more. It was a fiesta! 🎉 Back in the States, Spencer Torkelson hit home runs in five straight games, tying the Tigers franchise record. Ben Rice hit his 10th home run of the season and Aaron Judge MATCHED him, just the third pair of teammates in MLB history to both reach 10 home runs before May. The Braves went 21-9, their best 30-game start in over 25 years. Rookie JJ Weatherholt homered in three straight games. Konnor Griffin hit his first MLB home run on his 20th birthday, just the fourth player since 2000 to do that, joining Jose Reyes, Edwin Jackson, and the Upton brothers. HE GOT A BOUNCY HOUSE FROM HIS TEAMMATES. Camden Yards ran out of fireworks after SIX HRs. Ronald Acuna made a wall-crashing catch and a heartwarming high five. And the US Olympic figure skating team threw out the first pitch at a Mets game ⛸️. #MLBClubhouse #WeeklyHighlights #MasonMiller #MexicoCity #AaronJudge #BaseballForKids #MLB2026 ⚾ Subscribe to MLB Clubhouse for the best moments in baseball every week! © 2026 MLB. It’s been almost half a decade since the Flyers made their way to the second round of the NHL playoffs—an eternity in the world of sports. The year was 2018, and the Flyers were coming off a rollercoaster regular season, finishing 8th in the East. The journey to Round 2 started with a gritty, hard-fought series against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Despite being outmatched on paper, the Flyers dug deep and found a way to claw their way to a Game 6 win, sending the series to a must-win final game. That series was nothing short of chaotic—goals flying in from all angles, defensive breakdowns, and of course, the kind of intensity that only a Flyers-Pens matchup can bring. But after pulling off that win in Game 6, Philly’s momentum came crashing down in Round 2. The Flyers faced off against the mighty Washington Capitals, led by Alex Ovechkin in what would be a dominating performance from the Caps. Despite the valiant efforts of players like Claude Giroux, Sean Couturier, and Jake Voracek, the Flyers were overmatched, and the Capitals closed out the series 4-2, advancing to their eventual Stanley Cup championship run. For Flyers fans, it was a bittersweet reminder of how close they were to breaking through, but also how far they still had to go. The second round feels like a distant dream now, as the Flyers have struggled to regain that level of playoff success. With each passing season, the question remains—when will Philly be back in Round 2? And more importantly, when will they finally get back to competing for a Cup? The 2018 playoffs were a wild ride for Philly, but that ride ended too soon. Now, as the years pass by, the memory of that postseason run has started to fade, but Flyers fans still hold out hope. One day, Philly will rise again and make its mark in the playoffs. Until then, the wait continues. #fyp #hockey

Gov. Dan McKee gave an update Monday, April 27, on the closed Rt. 10 onramp in Cranston after parts of it fell onto the railroad tracks below. Rhode Island transportation officials still don't know what caused part of an Interstate 95 on-ramp to collapse onto the Northeast Corridor train tracks beneath it, even as regular Amtrak rail service resumed. The ramp from Route 10 North to I-95 North remained closed to traffic as the Rhode Island Department of Transportation worked to inspect the structure and put up new barriers to replace what came crashing down Friday, April 24.
