Los Angeles Dodgers vs Giants LIVE đ´ | Mookie Betts Is Back | Play-By-Play 2026
The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated shortstop Mookie Betts and have him in the lineup for their series opener against the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers have struggled for offense over the past several weeks, and will hope Betts can provide a boost to their lineup amid their team-wide slump. LA scored three runs or fewer in each of their three games against the Atlanta Braves in their last series, and only won one of them. Roki Sasaki will take the mound for the Dodgers, and the right-hander is surely ready to go after getting some extra rest. The Dodgers listed Sasaki as their probable pitcher for Saturdayâs game, but moved him to a Monday start and gave Blake Snell the start instead after his return from the injured list. The rest will hopefully do Sasaki well, as he has struggled through his first handful of starts in 2026. He has a 5.97 ERA after six appearances, striking out 26 batters in 28.2 innings pitched. He has been strong through the first couple of innings of his starts, but tends to run into trouble during his second time through the order. Only one of his 19 earned runs this season has come in the first two innings of a ballgame. Shohei Ohtani will lead off for the Dodgers as their designated hitter and look to break out of the slump heâs been riding, and Betts will bat second in his return to the lineup. First baseman Freddie Freeman makes room for Betts and moves down to the three hole, while right fielder Kyle Tucker bats in the cleanup spot. Catcher Will Smith drops down the lineup to fifth with Betts back in the lineup, and third baseman Max Muncy will bat sixth. The 25-year-old ranks as their No. 16 prospect, and will look to further solidify himself in their rotation. The first game of the three-game series begins Monday at 7:10 p.m. PT. Just a couple weeks ago, his ERA sat north of five and questions lingered about whether he could rediscover the command and confidence that made him one of Cincinnatiâs most dependable starters in 2025. Now, Abbott looks composed again, locating his fastball on the corners and mixing his breaking pitches effectively to keep hitters off balance. What stands out most during this run is efficiency. Abbott needed only 85 pitches to complete six innings against Houston, and he retired nine consecutive batters during one stretch of the game. The Astros, despite featuring dangerous bats like Alvarez and Jose Altuve, never generated sustained pressure. For the Reds, Abbottâs resurgence could not come at a better time. THE MAUMEE RIVER RIVALRY REMATCH! Komets vs Toledo Walleye: Round 2 Game 1 (5/10/2026)
Here we go again! Everyone at this point last year made it this far. The cream has risen to the top, the contenders have eased passed the pretenders. And what do we have left in the Central? Komets versus Walleye...again... The Komets got to this point by making quick work of the Indy "Fishers" Fuel in round 1. Winning the series in 5 games with 2 shutouts to boot, one by each goaltender. The K's will be riding with Samuel Jonsson as their goalie of choice for the foreseeable future. He has been standing on his head this series with only 2 goals allowed in 2 games and a .961 save %. In the playoffs you need your goals to come from everyone, The Komets have been doing that. The snakebitten Leo, Indiana native Matthew Miller finally got his first home goal as a Komet in game 5 of the first round. Brady Stonehouse who had his fair share of tough luck has 3 goals and is a plus 3 thus far. Stoney is the type of sandpaper player that is built for the playoffs, and if he can keep up that scoring clip, then everyone should take note. Not to mention that the top guys are scoring as well, Austin Magera leads the playoffs with 7 assists to go with 3 goals. 2 Points per game is an insane clip regardless who the opponent is. Every Komet on the active playoff roster has recorded at least 1 game, a true sign of the team's depth. Maybe this year will be different, the Komets have the talent to make that elusive deep run that hasn't happened since they won it all back in 2021. They have not lost at home so far in the playoffs going a perfect 3-0 at home up to this point. The Toledo Walleye have had a slightly different road up to this point. They won their series in 6 games to the Bloomington Bison. To the surprise of very few, Brandon Hawkins leads the team in points with 8. One thing they have been doing well was tearing up Bloomington's defense. Scoring 24 goals in 6 games well distributed up and down the line-up. Take it with a grain of salt, because Bloomington was playing catch up mode most of the series, Carter Gylander has a sub .900 save percentage, although not by much. What is alarming is what was the 6th best PK in the league comes in the playoffs with a college failing grade at 64.3% (however, that would have passed my weighted Differential Equations class I had the displeasure to take in college.) The Komets special teams have been firing up at the right time, Toledo will need to find that regular season groove to keep up and to prove that they are not cooling off at the worst time possible. This series will be chaos, as it always is. With Toledo getting the best of Fort Wayne the last couple of times last year and back in 2019. That series last year was painful for Komets fans. A golden opportunity was squandered as the underdog team. Now The K's are the top seed with home ice advantage, now is the time to dethrone the Fish once and for all. For Toledo Walleye, the ever elusive Kelly Cup has been teasingly close. They would love to win this series to continue narratives against a division foe and to bring home Toledo's first hockey championship in 32 years.

These are the highlights for Game 7 of the 1991 National League Championship Series. After a big 1-0 victory for the Atlanta Braves thanks to the pitching of Steve Avery, the Atlanta Braves have forced a decisive game 7. This is the best thing that could happen to the Braves, and this is the worst thing that couldâve happen to the Pirates. Why? Pitching. The Pittsburgh Pirates have John Smiley on the mound, who pitched in game 3 and was the losing pitcher in that game. The Pirates relied on Doug Drabek to get the win in game 6, but they now have to rely on the struggling John Smiley in order to get a few couple of good innings from him. The Atlanta Braves have their John Smoltz on the mound. John Smoltz pitched in game 3, and he pitched really well and gave the Braves the win in that game. The Braves are trying to go to the World Series for the first time since 1958, and the first time since moving to Atlanta. The Pittsburgh Pirates are trying to go to the World Series for the first time since 1979. In Game 7, these two teams face off in the last game of this series, with the winner of this game going to the 1991 World Series to face off against the American League Champion Minnesota Twins. After suffering through their longest losing streak since 2024, the Reds bounced back with a much-needed 3-1 win over the Houston Astros on Saturday at Great American Ball Park. Cincinnati snapped an eight-game skid and now has a chance to win the series on Sunday against one of the American Leagueâs top teams. The losing streak had quickly changed the outlook of the Redsâ season. Just a couple of weeks ago, Cincinnati was near the top of the NL Central standings. But a brutal stretch of losses dropped the Reds down the standings as the offense struggled to produce consistently and the pitching staff couldnât catch a break. Saturday felt different. Rookie pitcher Chase Burns delivered another strong performance and gave the Reds exactly what they needed. Burns allowed just one run over six innings while continuing to show why he has become one of the most exciting young pitchers in baseball. The right-hander improved to 4-1 on the season and lowered his ERA to 2.11. Houston took a brief 1-0 lead in the fifth inning on a solo home run, but the Reds answered immediately. Matt McLain came through with a two-run single to put Cincinnati ahead, and Elly De La Cruz added an RBI hit later in the inning to extend the lead to 3-1. The Reds bullpen handled the rest. Brock Burke, Graham Ashcraft and Pierce Johnson combined for three scoreless innings to close out the win. Johnson earned his first save of the season as Cincinnati celebrated its first victory in over a week. Now the Reds will try to build on that momentum in Sundayâs series finale. Left-hander Andrew Abbott is expected to start for Cincinnati. Abbott has had an up-and-down season so far, but he showed encouraging signs in his last outing against the Chicago Cubs. He carried a shutout into the sixth inning before leaving with a no-decision in a tough 3-2 loss. The Reds are hoping Abbott can continue trending in the right direction against a dangerous Astros lineup that still features several proven hitters. Houston remains one of the better offensive teams in baseball and can score quickly when its lineup gets rolling. The Astros are expected to start Kai-Wei Teng, who will be making just his second start of the season. Teng has mostly pitched out of the bullpen this year but has been effective in limited action. For Cincinnati, the offense will once again be a major storyline. The Reds have struggled offensively during the losing streak, but Saturdayâs win featured more timely hitting and better at-bats throughout the lineup. McLainâs two-run single was one of the biggest hits the Reds have had in over a week, while De La Cruz continued to provide energy near the top of the order. Will Benson has also started swinging the bat better recently, and the Reds are hoping players like Spencer Steer and Christian Encarnacion-Strand can continue to heat up as well. Manager Terry Francona has continued to shuffle the lineup looking for consistency, especially during the teamâs offensive struggles over the last several games. Even with the recent losing streak, the Reds are still very much in the mix in the NL Central race. A series win over Houston would not completely erase the frustration of the past week, but it would certainly help Cincinnati regain some confidence moving forward. More importantly, Saturdayâs victory reminded everyone what this team looks like when the pitching, defense and timely hitting all come together. The Reds will now try to carry that momentum into Sunday and secure an important series victory before turning the page to the next part of their schedule.
