Martinelli raced clear from his own half to score the opener four minutes into stoppage time at the end of the first period as he completed a lightning break, before Jesus added a second shortly after half-time. Sevilla offered little in the first half and were much improved after the break as they pulled a goal back when Nemanja Gudelj headed home, but the equaliser they so desperately sought eluded them despite some near misses. Arsenal top the group with six points from their three games. Lens are in second place with five points, followed by Sevilla and PSV Eindhoven with two each. Mikel Arteta's side never had complete control of the contest despite taking a 2-0 lead, and it will be some relief for him to leave with the three points. In der ersten Hälfte ging es hin und her, es war ein Spiel auf Augenhöhe. Durch hohe Präsenz im letzten Drittel der USA entstand die nächste Möglichkeit: Jamal Musialas Schuss am Sechzehner wurde abgefälscht, landete bei Niclas Füllkrug, dessen Abschluss aus 14 Metern aber zu zentral war (22.). Dann der Gegentreffer – und was für einer! Nachdem zunächst Füllkrug eine gute Chance liegen ließ, schaltete die USA schnell um, Pulisic dribbelte von links in die Mitte, schloss aus 20 Metern ab – und der Ball flog perfekt in den rechten Winkel (27.). In der gleichen Manier kombinierte sich Leroy Sané zusammen mit Ilkay Gündogan bis vor Keeper Matt Turner, an ihm blieb Sané hängen, doch Gündogan konnte abstauben – Ausgleich (40.). Kurz vor dem Pausenpfiff hatte Musiala nach Vorlage von Sané einen guten Abschluss aus spitzem Winkel (45.+1), dann war Halbzeit nach einer unterhaltsamen ersten Hälfte. Weiter temporeich ging es im zweiten Spielabschnitt zu: Gündogan trieb den Ball nach Ballgewinn weit nach vorne, spielte weiter zu Füllkrug, sein Abschluss konnte Turner aber parieren (49.). Sein nächster Abschluss saß dann: Robin Gosens spielte einen klugen Steckpass zu Füllkrug, der den Ball sicher rechts versenkte (58.). Kurz darauf landete das Leder mit etwas Glück links im Sechzehner bei Füllkrug, der clever rüber legte zum reingrätschenden Musiala – 3:1 (61.). Für Musiala kam Führich neu ins Spiel, der damit sein Debüt für die DFB-Elf machte. In der Schlussphase nahm Deutschland etwas Tempo raus, kam dabei aber dennoch zu Abschlüssen – beispielsweise in Form von einem mutigen Volleyschuss von Niklas Süle aus 20 Metern (86.).
