Brian Wright's 10th goal of the season proved to be a game-winner leading the Vermont Catamounts to a 1-0 victory over Binghamton and capturing the 2015 America East Men's Soccer Championship before a record crowd of 1,913 fans at Virtue Field on Sunday.
The Wofford College football team was defeated 24-17 by Western Carolina on Saturday afternoon at Gibbs Stadium. The Terriers had four turnovers in the first half and the Catamounts had a 17-0 lead at the half. Wofford battled back in the second half, but were unable to score on their final possession of the game. The Terriers are 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in Southern Conference play, while the Catamounts are 4-2 and 2-1 in the league. Wofford was led by Lorenzo Long with 68 rushing yards and Evan Jacks with 66 rushing yards and 74 passing yards. Western Carolina's Troy Mitchell had 42 rushing yards and was 21-of-27 passing for 203 yards.

Clancy Rugg scored a game-high 19 points behind an 11-for-12 effort from the foul line and Ethan O'Day added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds as the Vermont Catamounts cruised to a 76-52 victory over UMBC in America East men's basketball action at Patrick Gymnasium.

Senior attack Ali Castiglie scored a career-high six goals in a thrilling 14-13 win over the Vermont Catamounts last Saturday. Castiglie also broke the BU all-time points record on her assist to junior Brittany Stufano.
The Vermont Catamounts scored a season-high 22 goals to earn their first league win of the year with a 22-14 victory over visiting Binghamton in America East women's lacrosse action at Moulton Winder Field on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Samantha Stern (Cherry Hill, N.J.) led the Catamounts with four goals and two assists. Senior Sara Buxton (Northfield, Ill.) also added four goals. Senior Alison Haigh (Northborough, Mass.) and sophomore Natalie Jones (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) each potted hat tricks.
