140: Againts All Odds – Niners siegen in Dallas! Mit Günter Zapf!
In der Wild Card Round siegten die San Francisco 49ers mit 23:17 bei den Dallas Cowboys. Nach einer starken ersten Halbzeit mussten die 49ers in der zweiten Hälfte erneut zittern und vieles sah nach einer Wiederholung der Begegnung bei den Tennessee Titans aus. Aber die Niners konnten allen Widrigkeiten trotzen und in die Divisional Round gegen die Green Bay Packers einziehen. Wiederaufleben einer alten Rivalry Die San Francisco 49ers lieferten nach dem Overtime-Erfolg bei den Los Angeles Rams ihren Fans die nächste spannende und aufregende Partie. Das Team von Head Coach Kyle Shanahan traf in der Wild Card Round auf den NFC East Champion Dallas Cowboys. Im AT&T Stadium galten die Cowboys, die die Nummer 1 Scoring Offense der Regular Season stellten und nach Total DVOA auf dem ersten Platz geführt wurden, als Favorit. Aber „Againts All Odds“ dominierten die Kalifornier die erste Spielhälfte, versäumten es aber wie in der Partie bei den Tennessee Titans mehr Punkte aufs Scoreboard zu bringen. Nach der Halbzeitpause konnten die Niners nach einer Interception von K`Waun Williams durch einen Touchdown von Deebo Samuel auf 23:7 davonziehen. Es sah nach einem ungefährdeten Auswärtserfolg in Texas aus, aber es kam wie es kommen musste und die Cowboys kamen in die Partie zurück. Dabei boten die 49ers ein Spiegelbild der Saison: Turnover, ausgelassene Möglichkeiten in Offense wie Defense und auch die schon gewohnten kostspieligen Fehler in den Special Teams wurden aufgeführt.
