Jamaica kicked out of relays in Bahamas

#CariftaGames #Carifta50 #Jamaica #Bahamas Jamaica had a mixed day at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas, during the 50th Carifta Games on Sunday, April 9. The Caribbean powerhouse took home two gold medals but got disqualified from the other two sprint relays they competed in. Jamaica's U20 boys' 4x100m team won gold with a fantastic final leg by DeAndre Daley, who crossed the finish line in 39.68 seconds. Bahamas took second place, clocking 39.78 seconds, while Trinidad and Tobago completed the podium in 40.83 seconds. The Jamaican U20 girls' 4x100m team secured another gold medal thanks to Alana Reid's stunning performance on the backstretch. Jamaica finished in 44.01 seconds, ahead of Trinidad and Tobago, who crossed the line in 45.35 seconds, and Bahamas in third place with a time of 45.55 seconds. However, things didn't go as planned for Jamaica's U17 teams in the 4x100m relays. The boys' team finished second, clocking 41.63 seconds behind the Bahamas, who won gold in 41.46 seconds. Grenada finished third with a time of 41.95 seconds. Unfortunately, the Jamaican team was disqualified later, and Grenada was promoted to the silver medal position. The U17 girls' team also crossed the finish line in first place, clocking 45.36 seconds, but they were later disqualified. Trinidad and Tobago moved up to the gold medal position with a time of 46.18 seconds, followed by the Bahamas in third place with a time of 46.43 seconds. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stay up to date with the latest news by checking out our website at http://trackalerts.com Also, ****Be sure to follow me on your favorite social media platform!*** Facebook http://facebook.com/trackalerts Twitter http://twitter.com/trackalerts Instagram http://instagram.com/trackalerts We want to hear from you!
