Le clan Dembélé estime que le joueur est l'avenir du Barça, et qu'ils n'accepteront jamais moins que ce qui a déjà été proposé par les Catalans à Erling Haaland. Bref, ça sent mauvais et la presse locale ne s'y trompe pas et s'attend à perdre le champion du monde 2018. Aaron Ramsey coûte plus cher que CR7 ! Une belle opération des Cityzens grâce à un Phil Foden qui permet à City de «s'envoler vers le titre», comme le rapporte le Daily Mail sur sa Une. L'Anglais est de retour en grâce et le royaume de sa Majesté ne s'y trompe pas en lui rendant un vibrant hommage ce matin. The Guardian ou encore le Mirror estiment qu'ils ont bien fait car Foden permet à l'équipe de Pep Guardiola d'«accentuer son avance en tête du championnat.» En revanche, le tabloïd constate que «le but de Welbeck à la dernière minute met à mal les espoirs de titre de Chelsea.» Enfin, le Daily Telegraph se régale de la célébration de l'international anglais avec ce titre : «Foden vole haut», à l'image de City qui plane sur la Premier League ce matin avec 8 points d'avance.
