Ni Pogacar ni Roglic pudieron alcanzar el ataque de Higuita a 50 km de meta
A Sergio Andrés Higuita con 22 años lo llevaron a correr la vuelta a españa, el equipo educación first lo contrató en 2019 y el colombiano dio un gran salto, salto que le daba la oportunidad de correr carreras de mayor envergadura. Una gran vuelta es el sueño de cualquier amante del ciclismo que desde niño ve muy lejos la vuelta a españa, el giro de Italia o el tour de Francia. Higuita llego a la etapa 18 siendo el mejor ubicado de su equipo, Rigo Urán quien era el líder se retiró en la etapa 6. Aquella etapa 18 era una jornada de alta montaña con 4 puertos de primera categoría, era el final de la vuelta y las fuerzas estaban medidas. La question est de savoir qui montera sur le podium de l'emblématique Piazza del Campo à la fin de la course ? un précédent vainqueur sous la forme de Julian Alaphilippe ou Tiesj Benoot ? Sono gli anni della crisi finanziaria che ha colpito l’intera Grecia nel 2008. Ci sono 4 giovani ragazzi e 2 adulti che stanno spingendo un frigo su uno skateboard. È tutto ciò che gli rimane insieme a qualche vestito consumato. Sono appena stati cacciati dalla casa in cui si trovavano. Si tratta della famiglia Antetokounmpo. Sono in grande difficoltà economica e non riescono a pagare l’affitto. Si stanno dirigendo verso casa di un amico, che sperano possa ospitarli. Nonostante abbiano vissuto quella situazione più di una volta, non sanno cosa gli riserverà il futuro d’ora in poi. Le aspettative sono le stesse di quando Charles, il padre e Veronica, la madre, si sono trasferiti nella penisola ellenica nel 1991. La coppia è partita dal paese di origine, la Nigeria, qualche anno prima in cerca di fortuna, lasciando il primogenito Francis ai nonni. In Africa la situazione socio-politica è pessima e Charles, talentuoso calciatore, coglie l’opportunità di andare a giocare in Germania come professionista. La situazione però si complica. A pochi mesi dal suo arrivo, un grave infortunio mette fine alla sua brevissima carriera. Insieme a Veronica così decidono di trasferirsi in Grecia, a Sepolia, un quartiere di Atene, destinazione di tanti migranti. Qui danno alla luce altri 4 figli, Thanasis nel 1992, Giannis nel 1994, Kostas nel 1997 e Alex nel 2001. Gli danno nomi greci, sperando che quel paese possa adottarli. Il cognome originario della famiglia è infatti Adetokunbo, significa “re nato all’estero che ritorna alle sue origini”. Non bisogna farsi ingannare, quella famiglia vive in condizioni tutt'altro che agiate. Privi di cittadinanza, sono a tutti gli effetti degli immigrati clandestini, in un luogo prevalentemente popolato da bianchi. Trovare lavoro è complicato. Tutti i membri della famiglia sono costretti a vendere cianfrusaglie per strada. Non hanno una sistemazione stabile, il cibo scarseggia. Veronica è addirittura costretta a vendere l’anello di matrimonio. Il terzogenito Giannis è colpito dal comportamento dei suoi genitori, da quello che fanno per loro “Vedevo mio padre sedersi al tavolo e non toccare cibo, cercando di sorridere nonostante tutto”. A 6 anni aveva iniziato a contrattare per strada ed è presto diventato il miglior venditore tra i suoi fratelli. È ostinato e si rifiuta di ricevere un no come risposta. Non ha scelta. Sa che la sua famiglia ha bisogno di lui. Come tanti bambini ha un sogno: vuole giocare a calcio. Si approccia a quello sport intensamente, come gli ha insegnato il padre. I suoi genitori vogliono che rispetti gli altri, ma allo stesso tempo lo spingono ad essere competitivo. Lui fantastica di poter diventare un professionista, nonostante venga cacciato da un team locale perché ritenuto troppo magro e non all’altezza. Ma non importa, può giocare con i suoi fratelli. C’è un rapporto speciale tra loro. La sua famiglia è davvero unita nonostante le difficoltà. In più ha imparato da Charles a non abbattersi. Cresce guardando quell’uomo sorridere nonostante la povertà. Un giorno cambia tutto. Giannis, 13enne, sta giocando a rincorrersi per strada con Kostas e Alex. Da lì passa Velliniatis, coach di pallacanestro di una squadra della zona, che lo nota. Anzi ricorda di aver avuto una visione “È tutta la vita che sto cercando questo. Dio mi sta parlando”. Non ha mai visto qualcuno correre così tanto e cambiare direzione così velocemente . Nota in lui un’energia e concentrazione unica. Lo prende da parte, si fa raccontare la sua storia e gli fa una semplice domanda “vuoi giocare a basket per me?”.
