We discuss Ipswich Town's 3-0 victory at Shrewsbury - a win which keeps Kieran McKenna's team top of League One (calm down!)
The result is all that matters today for OUFC as they somehow found a win against Shrewsbury Town today. It finished Shrewsbury Town 1-2 Oxford United. Here is my review of this Sky Bet League One game OUFC were right up against it today vs SALOP. Oxford had injures and illness running rampant through the squad which meant much changed and worrying line up took the field against the Shrews. Oxford Utd took the lead early in the first half when a fantastic through ball by Herbie Kane saw Gavin Whyte's shot fall to Matty Taylor for a tap in. That was all the yellows could mount for the majority of the game as they were largely on the back foot by Shrewsbury. The Shrews are one of the lowest scorers in League One, but did get level when Ryan Bowman finished off a fine move. From there it looked like Shrewsbury would wrap up a win, but Oxford Utd were awarded a penalty with about 5 minutes to go and Mr penalty Cameron Brannagan did the honours from the spot. No one will care about this game come the end of the season, but this was a massive win as Oxford United continue their playoff push in the EFL this season.
