St. Louis Blues Sign Carl Gunnarsson for 2-Year $3.5 Million Deal
Carl ‘Boom Boom’ Gunnarsson signs a 2-Year extension deal for $3.5 Million. __ Once again, thank you Doug Armstrong. Gunnar was not an everyday player by any stretch but when his number was called, he performed. Obviously the game two slapper is what comes to mind when Blues fans think of Gunnarsson but I think looking past that he is a great defenseman. __ Gunnarsson will almost always not show up on the score sheet and you might not notice him too much on the ice. That is because he is a very calm, cool, and passive defenseman that rarely takes risks. He doesn’t get noticed because all he does is skate with the fastest and most skilled players in the world, positions himself, lifts a stick or swats the puck away. Usually chips the puck out or finds and outlet and goes for a change. __ The offensive minded D-Men get the craze but Gunnarsson is a reliable and confident player that I think will get another Cup.
