When Basketball Players Purposely Avoided Records: In 2005 Jermaine O’Neal scored 55 Points in a Pacers Game against the Bucks, the game was a blowout 116-99, but he purposely snubbed himself out, so he doesn’t tie or surpass 57 Points, which is the Single Game Scoring Record held by Reggie Miller. Jordan Bo-Hannon of the Iowa Hawkeyes was about to break the Iowa NCAA record of 34 free throws made in a row. But He pointed to the sky and missed his 35th Free Throw on Purpose to honor the Record Set by Chris Street, who sadly passed away in a Car Accident just three days after his original Record. Jordan wanted Chris’s record to stay as a way to keep his memory alive. LeBron could have potentially held the Record for the most starts in a Row, which is held by Chris Paul with 1,365 Starts in a Row, but in 2007 LeBron Purposely came off the bench because Anderson Varejao was about to play his First NBA game of the 07 season after a 2 month contract hold out. To Help Boost Anderson’s morale, He came off the bench with him at the same time to avoid the Crowd from Booing him. At the time LeBron had 333 starts in a row, had he not purposely snapped it, he would be the record holder not Chris Paul.

In the final game of Round 1 of the 2026 T.Rowe Price ACC Men's Basketball Tournament, the 13-seeded Demon Deacons took down the 12-seeded Hokies, 95-89 in overtime. Seven of the eight Wake Forest players who played in the game scored at least 10 points. Wake Forest shot 50.8% from the field while holding Virginia Tech to 41.8% shooting. Myles Colvin led Wake Forest with 18 points and six rebounds. Sebastian Akins scored 14 points, including an important and-1 with 57 seconds left in overtime. Akins also had four rebounds and three assists. Tre'Von Spillers and Mekhi Mason each had 13 points. For Virginia Tech, Ben Hammond scored a game-high 23 points. Jailen Bedford had 17 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.

On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) to break down the Panthers 2-1 OT win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Florida scored two power play goals in the third and OT, but if it weren't for the heroics of Sergei Bobrovsky, they would not have been in position to win. After Florida tied it at one, they took full control and flipped the possession. Blue Jackets are on the playoff bubble and were playing for the point in regulation, but after a breakaway from Matthew Tkachuk, it drew a tripping call which eventually led to the winner by Sam Reinhart. Reinhart was back in the lineup after missing Tueaday's win against Detroit, as the Panthers were without Anton Lundell and Carter Verhaeghe. There was a Panthers Debut in Cole Reinhardt and an NHL Debut, where D Mike Benning got the secondary assist in overtime. Trusted to take a roll on the power play after his experience in the NCAA and in Charlotte, Florida threw Benning into the wolves and got involved on the game winner. Florida now has won three in a row after the trade deadline as the group is playing loose. The guys give their three stars of the game, when they knew the game was won, and discuss whether the streak can continue as they begin their road trip on Sunday night in Seattle.
