North Carolina A&T snapped out of an early-season slump on January 20, 2002, with a 63ā57 neutral-site win over rival North Carolina Central. The Aggies battled through a tight menās basketball matchup and found enough offense late to hold off the Eagles. The victory gave A&T a needed boost during the 2001ā02 campaign.
