Steve and Glen are not ‘Method’ coaches. They recognise that there are literally 1000’s of ways to swing a golf club! Rather than try to ‘change’ your swing, their goal is to help You Be The Best Golfer You Can Be! Skill Development vs Technical Changes Although technique is an important factor in improving a golfer’s performance, Skill Development is largely neglected in golf coaching today. Skill is something that can be tangibly improved with proper understanding of the golf impact laws and effective practice towards improved performance. External Focus of Attention Most golf teaching involves an internal focus. Common suggestions might include increased hip turn, a still head or improved hand path. These are all factors of the golf swing, which many golfers and teachers consider important. However, as they are focused internally, on movements of the body, golfers find changes extremely difficult to process. Enter the world of External Focus of Attention. This means that instead of focusing on body parts, a golfer can and should focus more on the target, the ball, the clubhead - objects which are external to the body. The sciences involving Motor Skill Learning have proven that by employing an External Focus of Attention, sports men and women learn new moves more quickly, retain changes more readily and can perform better under pressure.

Managerless relegation rivals Burnley don’t play until Thursday, meaning the ‘Toffees’ could secure a huge psychological boost by going six points clear of the drop zone by the end of the night. Robust defensive displays have been key to the few successes Everton have had this season, as highlighted by five of their eight Premier League (PL) victories being accompanied by a clean sheet. With that context, it could be a worry for manager Frank Lampard that Everton have secured just one shutout against Leicester across the last 15 PL home H2Hs, although remarkably only two of those matches ended in defeat (W5, D8). After their success in Europe just a few days earlier, Leicester were brought back down to earth on Sunday with a 2-1 loss at Newcastle United. They now come into this round in ninth place and 14 points adrift of the top six, meaning European qualification via the league looks dead in the water. The aim now for the ‘Foxes’ will be to avoid a first finish outside the PL top ten since 2016/17! Away form will have to improve if they’re to achieve that goal, with six of Leicester’s last eight PL trips ending in defeat (W1, D1). The most recent at St James’ Park came despite taking an early lead, making it 17 points dropped from winning positions for Brendan Rodgers’ men this season - only three PL sides have dropped more. Players to watch: Anthony Gordon’s deflected strike for Everton against Manchester United last time out meant he’s been involved in five PL goals across his last six starts at Goodison Park. Former ‘Toffee’ Ademola Lookman will be out to hurt his old club by netting a third PL goal for Leicester in as many competition matches. Hot stat: Both teams scored in 12 of the last 13 H2H meetings at Goodison Park, though that’s not happened in any of Everton’s previous six competitive home matches. #LIVESTREAM #premierleague #EVERTONvsLEICESTER
The Toronto Blue Jays battled an injury virus on Friday night as several backup players stepped up to help the team beat the Oakland Athletics 4-1 at Rogers Center. #BlueJays #depth #steps #Vlad TORONTO -- How different a week has been for the Toronto Blue Jays. When their season kicked off against the Texas Rangers last Friday, their starting lineup was arguably the deepest in the American League. Seven days later, the Blue Jays are back in Toronto in front of another crowd, but this time their lineup is severely depleted after Teoscar Hernandez and Danny Jansen's oblique injuries. In this case, it's important for additional players to step up, and that's exactly what happened when the Blue Jays beat the Athletics 4-1 in front of 35,415 fans at the Rogers Center on Jackie Robinson Day. First, however, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit another notable homer, and he led the entire baseball with five homers after a single-stroke in the first inning. He later became single and was considered the first of many intentional walks that year. But these kinds of games are not uncommon for Guerrero Jr., who joins Juan Soto and Mike Trout in any discussion of baseball's best bat. It's less certain what the Blue Jays can expect from their supporting cast, but Toronto can't hold out much hope in that regard. In his first start of the season, Ross Sterling failed to score in four innings before handing the ball over to the bullpen. That's exactly what the Blue Jays expect from the right-hander, who will start 19 games in 2021. "We needed at least four innings and he gave us this," manager Charlie Montoyo said. "He did a great job." Splitter is sure to have more starts this year, either because of injuries or just to give the rest of the starting rotation a breather. For now, he'll likely be back in the bullpen while the Blue Jays decide when they need him. "It's a very valuable role for the team," Stripling said. "Psychologically, I know I'm a huge asset, I can get out of any situation, and the other person knows I'm going to stay that way. I don't have to be Jacob deGrom, I don't have to be Jordan Romano .I'm somewhere in between." "I'm proud of this role and I want to be successful in this role." On offense, the Blue Jays' depth players were just as important on Friday. Right fielder Remel Tapia, who started in place of Hernandez, scored twice in his first multi-hit game with the Blue Jays. He also showed his speed in the second game as he scored with Santiago Espinal Dou from the start
