Robert Lewandowski and Bayern Munich bounce into their game against Ritsu Doan and Arminia Bielefeld on Monday night as freshly minted sextuple winners (kick-off: 9:30pm GMT). Bayern concluding their historic 2020/21 by claiming a sixth title in the FIFA Club World Cup final against UANL Tigres on Thursday evening. Bayern flew out to Doha, Qatar after taking all three points from their trip to Hertha Berlin last Friday. Now, 10 days after their previous Bundesliga outing, the champions return to the Allianz Arena looking to restore their 10-point lead atop the table. Kingsley Coman was the hero at the Olympiastadion in their 1-0 victory, as Lewandowski failed to score from the spot for the first time since January 2019, with Rune Jarstein making the save. Bayern's No.9 scored twice in the Club World Cup semi-final against Al-Ahly, though, and has Gerd Müller's 40-goal season scoring record very much in his cross-hairs closer to home. Lewandowski will be without partner-in-crime Thomas Müller, but defender Jerome Boateng should be available again, having returned from Doha early due to personal reasons. With Leon Goretzka available again to partner Joshua Kimmich in midfield, it could be Corentin Tolisso playing in a more advanced role. Hansi Flick will have selection dilemmas at left-back and on one wing, with Lucas Hernandez and Leroy Sane vying for starting spots. Bielefeld will be well-rested having gone 15 days since their last game after their Matchday 20 encounter with Werder Bremen was postponed due to snow last Sunday. It has provided head coach Uwe Neuhaus with extra time to prepare for his team's trip to the Allianz, with the promoted side caught in the relegation battle. Bielefeld have a four-point cushion between on Main, who occupy the relegation/promotion play-off place, with Hertha Berlin joining Arminia on 17 points heading into the weekend. The scorer of Bielefeld's last two goals in the league, Sergio Cordova, could be forsaken for an extra midfielder with club captain Fabian Klos leading the line on his own away from home. Elsewhere, Neuhaus is likely to stick with his trusted players for the uphill battle which is a trip to face Bayern. January loan signing from Red Bull Salzburg, Masaya Okugawa, could be part of a matchday squad for the first time alongside fellow Japanese and joint-stop scorer, Doan.
