Padres snap skid | Impressive Griffin Canning | Did Mexico City affect Padres ?| Friar Territory

The San Diego Padres have finally snapped a four-game skid, thanks to an impressive debut from Griffin Canning and the "Bogey special." Darren Smith and Marty Caswell break down the biggest takeaways from the disappointing 2-4 homestand versus the Chicago White Sox and Cubs. Why would the Padres give Fernando Tatis an off-day during the team's skid? The duo listen to comments from Manny Machado on whether the trip to the altitude in Mexico City affected the hitters. And yes, the Padres are struggling offensively but luckily for them, so is the entire National League West. The duo then discuss an impressive debut from Griffin Canning, nearly a year after his achilles injury. How far behind might Lucas Giolito be and what does it mean for the futures of Matt Waldron and German Marquez? We hear from Canning on his start and early first-inning jitters. The Padres news of the weekend though is undoubtedly the transfer in ownership from the Seidler family to Kwanza Jones and Jose E. Feliciano. Marty and Darren break down their official statement and what they want to see from the next ownership group. The two then pay tribute to legendary Yankees broadcaster John Sterling, who passed away at 87 years of age. If you like your money, Mint Mobile is for you. February 4, 1977-New York Nets vs. Philadelphia 76ers (WMCA Radio)

As part of paying tribute to John Sterling on his passing, I wanted to upload something from the earlier part of his career that hasn't been represented on my channel until now, and that was his tenure as the voice of the New York/New Jersey Nets from 1975 to 1980. I unfortunately still have not come across his call of the Nets second ABA title in 1976, and the only two Nets broadcasts I have are from their first season in the NBA (and their last on Long Island) when they plummeted to a last place team, largely because they had been forced to sell Julius Erving to pay off the penalties stemming from the merger. This game sees them playing the Sixers at the Spectrum where Dr. J is about to take his new team to the NBA Finals that year. John calls the game on WMCA Radio with Mike DiTomasso.

Auburn Recruiting Heating Up Under Alex Golesh
Auburn Recruiting Heating Up Under Alex Golesh

Auburn Tigers land 4-star wide receiver Brylan Oduor, adding a major boost to the 2027 recruiting class. Oduor's combination of size, speed, and aggressive blocking raises the question: is Auburn on the verge of building a dangerous, well-rounded offense under Alex Golesh and receivers coach Cody Burns? Zac Blackerby and Lindsay Crosby break down Oduor's rapid commitment, examine how his physicality fits Auburn’s run-heavy scheme, and highlight the recruiting momentum picking up ahead of Big Cat Weekend. The conversation explores Oduor's impact in both the passing and running game, the staff’s approach to all-around player development, and Auburn’s recruitment battles with teams like Indiana and Ole Miss. With roster construction and early playing time at the forefront, the Tigers' future recruiting wins could redefine SEC competition.
