We didn't have such a power like we had during the preliminary round. After that we had a few of problems in sideout and our level went down in all elements. We were still fighting, we wanted to come back in the 3rd set. We played a good third set, but we had problems with scoring in sideout again, and point by point and then three or four points in a row and it was already too much. France played well, they put a lot of pressure with their serve, we struggled in sideout and this gave the result of the match. Before the Final Four we were satisfied with being in the top four. Before the finals we did a great tournament and I'm really happy about this, because it's the first time - not only at the VNL, but also when we had an opportunity to play so many strong matches in a row. This is a big experience for us and I'm happy about it. Regarding the Final Four, we can learn something from this, improve - we could have played a bit different and more aggressive, but I hope it will be an important lesson and experience for us in the future." Earvin Ngapeth (France): "We are very happy. It's very important to finish as the 3rd team in this competition. It was a very long and hard tournament. With this result we can go and prepare for the Olympics with a smile, because it's always important to go home with a medal. Also when it's hard, like yesterday against Brazil when they played a lot better than us and we couldn't find a solution, but we kept playing with a smile and good energy. We said it would be difficult with Slovenia. We have to enjoy the game like we did, today was very good. The energy that we put on the court made a difference, in addition Jenia [Grebennikov] played very good in defence. We saved a lot of balls, our service was very good today, too and it all made a difference." ►► Subscribe NOW & hit the bell! 🔔: https://go.volleyball.world/Subscribe... ▶▶ Watch ALL the Volleyball action https://go.volleyball.world/TV?ytv=d FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA 📱 Instagram: https://go.volleyball.world/Instagram... DRAMATIC Volleyball Match | Brazil vs France | Semifinal | Men's VNL 2021 Brazil huddle as they take down France to make the final of the 2021 VNL. Brazil shut out France in compelling manner to claim the first ticket to the final of the 2021 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League.Brazil raze France for first ever shot at Men's VNL gold.Yoandy Leal strikes 20 times to lead South Americans into their first final. Mauricio Souza and Wallace de Souza are joined in celebration by Ricardo Lucarelli and Bruno Rezende as Brazil advance to their first ever FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League final with a striking win over France in the semifinals. Brazil produced a solid and convincing performance to sweep France 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-19) in Saturday's first semifinal of the 2021 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League and advance to Sunday's final. They are due to meet the winner of the second semifinal, between Slovenia and Poland. It was sweet revenge for Brazil, who had lost to France in the round-robin phase of the VNL. Brazil built up a healthy lead early on (in fact France fell and stayed behind after a brief lead at 2-1 in the first set). An injury of Isac Santos, who had to be replaced by Lucas Saatkamp at 18-15, allowed France to briefly draw level at 19-19, before Lucas himself stepped up to serve and lead Brazil to a 5-0 run that brought Brazil to set point and beyond the reach of France. It was anther 5-1 run for Brazil to close the second set, after again having led throughout. Yoandy Leal was causing all sorts of problems to the French reception and killing every ball that found it way to him and Mauricio Souza's blocking was letting nothing through. France coach Laurent Tillie tried to change the flow of the game, starting with Antoine Brizard setting in place of Benjamin Toniutti and brining on Trevor Clevenot on as opposite instead of Kevin Tillie. This balanced out the game - but just a bit. Brazil soon adapted to the change and carried on as usual to break away even before the second technical timeout before back-to-back points by Wallace with an ace on Clevenot and a great kill from the back row brought the match home. Leal with 20 points - 67% (18/27) in attack plus two aces - led the scoring for Brazil, with Wallace adding another 13 and Mauricio contributing five of his team's nine blocks. On the other side, Earvin Ngapeth provided a decent reception to his setters and some fair digging, but failed in attack, finishing the match on a mere 25% (4/16) efficiency, with Jean Patry producing his team's high scoring of 12 points. Other than the forced substitution of Isac early on, Brazil coach Carlos Schwanke kept his lineup unchanged throughout the game - not bringing on a single reserve at any point in the game. Regardless of the colour, it will be Brazil's first ever VNL medal after twice making the Final Four, but losing both times in the semifinals and the bronze medal matches at the 2018 and 2019 editions. France will meet the loser of the other semifinal for bronze on Sunday, prior to the grand final. -Like, Share, Subscribe- For More Volleyball content * 🔔 Don't Forget to Hit the Bell Icon 🔔 * All Credits by FIVB: Volleyball TV: https://go.volleyball.world/TV?ytv=d - Watch ALL the Volleyball Action https://go.volleyball.world/TV?ytv=d - Subscribe NOW https://go.volleyball.world/Subscribe... - News, Schedules, Results & more: https://go.volleyball.world/VNL?ytv=d FOLLOW VOLLEYBALL WORLD ON SOCIAL MEDIA Instagram: https://go.volleyball.world/Instagram... Slovenia staged a remarkable comeback from two sets down to turn the tables on France and knock them off the top of the 2021 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League standings. Here's the reaction after the game, from the virtual Mixed Zone: Thibault Rossard (France): "We started the match very well with good service, but then in the third set we lost a bit of focus and we lost some easy points letting them return to the game and they used this chance. They played very well after that until the end of the fifth set. The result of the fifth set was a combination of mentality and physical issues, we were missing energy after leading 2-0 - it was tough for us to see that Slovenia came back and level the set score to 2-2 and in the tie-break they put big pressure on us. They played really good, we had our chance in the third set to finish the set, but we didn't use it and they found their rhythm and won this game." Alen Pajenk (Slovenia): "Winning the game after being 0-2 down feels amazing, especially that we played against each other in Germany [at European Olympic qualifiers], so it was a kind of revenge for us. I'm happy that we did. We started very badly on serve, so it was very hard to play, especially in the first two sets. But then Rok Mozic came in and he gave us some freshness. We started to score more points and to serve better. We had much more energy in the last three sets. We know that the match against Russia will be very hard. Tomorrow is a new day, a new challenge - big Russia, they also won today, so it's going to be a really hard match, but we will go motivated to this game like against everybody else and we will try to win." ►► Subscribe NOW & hit the bell! 🔔: https://go.volleyball.world/Subscribe... ▶▶ Watch ALL the Volleyball action https://go.volleyball.world/TV?ytv=d FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA 📱 Instagram: https://go.volleyball.world/Instagram... The 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 30-28, 25-19) score was fueled by 21 points by France star Earvin Ngapeth. This is what the players said: Earvin Ngapeth (FRA): We played very well today, especially in block-defence. We had more winning blocks than the Russians, so it's something really crazy for us. We played with a lot of energy, so it was a good match and a good result for us. This is only one game of this long tournament, but it's always important for us to win against teams like Russia. We always play to win. This year the tournament is very long and after there are the Olympic Games, so we also using this tournament for preparation. But every time we play we play to win, at all events. Egor Kliuka (RUS): France enjoyed their game, they played without pressure and it was difficult to play against them. We stayed very serious, sometimes even with sad faces... This tournament is a part of our preparation ahead of the Olympics, so it's very important to stay together and not to fight inside the team, only support each other and work hard. ►► Subscribe NOW & hit the bell! 🔔: https://go.volleyball.world/Subscribe... ▶▶ Watch ALL the Volleyball action https://go.volleyball.world/TV?ytv=d FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA 📱 Instagram: https://go.volleyball.world/Instagram...
