LIVE STREAM PLAY BY PLAY: VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS VS MONTREAL CANADIENS Lehner makes 36 saves, Golden Knights defeat Canadiens The Vegas Golden Knights scored their first two power-play goals of the season in a come-from-behind 5-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre on Saturday. Alex Pietrangelo had a goal and an assist and Robin Lehner made 36 saves for the Golden Knights (6-5-0), who faced the Canadiens for the first time since losing to them in six games in the Stanley Cup Semifinals last season. Nick Suzuki had a goal and an assist for Montreal (3-10-0), which has lost four of five. Jake Allen made 13 saves. Outshot 20-1 in the first period, Vegas scored three straight goals in the second to take the lead, scoring on their fourth, sixth and seventh shots of the game, including both of their power-play shots. Pietrangelo scored Vegas' first power-play goal of the season to cut Montreal's lead to 2-1 on a one-timer from the left point at 5:16. The Golden Knights had failed to score in 19 man-advantage opportunities through their first 10 games Jonathan Marchessault tied it 2-2 when he scored on a backhand from the edge of the crease4 at 10:24. Dylan Coghlan scored Vegas' second power-play goal 12 minutes in with a low shot from the right point on a pass from Pietrangelo for a 3-2 lead. Chandler Stephenson scored into an empty at 17:09 of the third to make it 4-2, and Brayden McNabb also scored into an empty net with 35 seconds remaining for the 5-2 final. Suzuki put Montreal up 1-0 when he scored for a third straight game in the first, a power-play goal on a rebound of Mike Hoffman's shot at 17:18. Suzuki made it three straight multipoint games with an assist on Tyler Toffoli's goal at 18:49. He has seven points (three goals, four assists) during his streak. Canadiens forward Jonathan Drouin missed his second game and remains day-to-day since he was hit in the head by a shot by teammate Brett Kulak in a 3-0 win against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. Artturi Lehkonen scored at 1:39 of overtime for the Montreal Canadiens in a 3-2 win against the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals at Bell Centre on Thursday. Lehkonen one-timed a wrist shot past Robin Lehner stick side on Phillip Danault's backhand pass to win the best-of-7 series and send Montreal to the Cup Final for the first time since 1993. Cole Caufield scored his fourth goal of the series and Carey Price made 37 saves for the Canadiens, who will face either the Tampa Bay Lightning or the New York Islanders. Game 7 of that series will be played Friday. Reilly Smith and Alec Martinez scored for the Golden Knights, who tied the game twice. Lehner made 29 saves in his second start of the series. Martinez tied it 2-2 at 1:08 of the third on a rebound from the edge of the crease that got between Price's pads after a save on Alex Pietrangelo's rising shot. Shea Weber scored a power-play goal at 14:06 of the first period. Martinez's backhand on a clearing attempt went straight to Weber, who scored on a slap shot past Lehner stick side from the top of the left face-off circle to give Montreal a 1-0 lead. Smith tied it 1-1 at 14:54 when he got his stick down behind Price's right pad to deflect Shea Theodore's pass inside the left post. Caufield put the Canadiens up 2-1 at 9:36 of the second when he tipped Joel Edmundson's stretch pass and raced past Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb to get the puck before cutting to the net to score with a wrist shot over Lehner's glove. Luke Richardson coached the Canadiens for a fourth straight game following Dominique Ducharme's positive test for COVID-19.
