Liverpool have been handed a major pre-Christmas boost with the return of Thiago Alcantara to team training – along with James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri. Summer signing Thiago has been restricted to just two appearances since his £20m move from Bayern Munich after sustaining a knee injury in October’s Merseyside derby at Everton. But the Spain international could be in line to return in Sunday’s home clash with West Brom after being pictured out on the grass with his Liverpool team-mates at the AXA Training Centre in Kirby. Fellow midfielder Milner and Shaqiri also took part in today’s session after they returned from injuries of their own. Reds boss Klopp is expected to give an update on the returning trio at his pre-match press conference to preview the West Brom match.
