After Chennai were put into bat by Hardik Pandya as they have done all season Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway got Chennai off to a steady start. Conway was struggling for rhythm but Gaikwad was fluent as usual and stroked his fourth fifty of the season. After his dismissal the boundaries dried up for Chennai but Rahane provided some much-needed impetus with his cameo. Towards the end cameos by Rayudu Jadeja and Moeen Ali helped Chennai cross the 170-run mark. Up and over! Pitched up on the stumps Saha with a short backlift just thumps it over a leaping Deepak Chahar at mid on for the first boundary of the chase. All the way! Chahar drags it down the leg side Shubman Gill picks it up and flicks it over the backward square leg fence for a maximum. Fraction short and put away! This is bowled over the off stump Saha rocks back and pulls it away crisply in front of mid-wicket for a boundary. Picks the man out perfectly! Another short ball from Chahar over middle and begging to be hit.
