Swansea's rout of Notts County has set up an encounter with Sheffield Wednesday and a return to Hillsborough for Carvalhal less than two months since leaving the Championship club. Carvalhal insisted his parting on Christmas Eve was by mutual consent but there were supporters who called for his dismissal and it is clear the Portuguese feels they were misguided. Nine-man Wednesday suffered a maiden defeat under Jos Luhukay, going down 3-1 to Birmingham at Hillsborough. What could go wrong did so as mistakes and red cards undermined the Owls’ ambitions against the struggling Blues. The Owls had an uphill task having gone 3-0 down whilst losing Marco Matias in a one-sided first half and then to compound matters, Daniel Pudil was also dismissed after the break. Lucas Joao did find the net but the substitute’s goal proved little more than a consolation.

Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff fought out a goalless draw at Hillsborough, which leaves the hosts with just one victory from their last 12 Championship games. There were chances for both sides, with Wednesday strikers Jordan Rhodes and Lucas Joao both spurning opportunities to score while Yanic Wildschut and Marko Grujic went close for the visitors. Wednesday boss Jos Luhukay, taking charge of his first home league game, handed a start to Jordan Thorniley. The young defender was making his debut after spending time on loan at Accrington earlier this season.

Wednesday shared the points with Bristol City following a goalless draw at Hillsborough. Arguments could be had for either team taking all three but a draw was probably a fair outcome on a freezing afternoon in S6.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds United (HI HO SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY)
Sheffield Wednesday vs Leeds United (HI HO SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY)

Back at Hillsborough once again after the 4-2 loss to Sheffield United and the midweek loss to Birmingham. A little bit of a downturn as of late but once again we are back on the television, the commentary box and cameras are ready. As i once again know the result due to uploading this after the game, we were outstanding, Leeds showed a little of what they are capable of but it seems lacked a lot of their usual attributes. Wednesday on the otherhand shon!! This time in front of the cameras we put on a display that people recognise us for, quick passing, taking men on, and the goals, with Gary Hooper so close to a hat trick and pretty much everyone else had hit every bit of the goal, the last goal came as a bit of a surprise when Kieran Lee smashed it home to wrap the game up. Keep it up boys!!!!
