Around the same time last year, the Royals faced the Titans in the 23rd match and went on to win the game, making it four wins out of five to be at the top. The Titans managed to recover from the defeat, eventually topping the table with as many as 10 wins in the league stage while the Royals missed the playoffs cut after losing six out of their last nine matches. The Royals are again at the top, this time unbeaten after four matches, while the Titans are placed fourth from the bottom. In a league populated by 10 teams, the room for error is minimum and the Royals will be well aware as they look to continue their winning run and ensure their domination doesn't fizzle out like it did the last time. The Titans, having suffered three losses out of five matches, will be hoping for a quick turnaround and a revival of their fortunes. Jos Buttler's return to form, Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag's consistency, the depth and heft in the batting department - the Royals have had everything going their way so far. The bowling isn't far behind either. Trent Boult and Nandre Burger have proved to be a lethal combination and the world-class spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and R Ashwin have flawlessly essayed the attack and defence roles respectively, which has made it difficult for the opposition batters to get away. If Yashasvi Jaiswal also gets amongst the runs and if Sandeep regains his fitness and returns to further bolster their bowling, it will complete the synergy for the Royals who have anyway functioned like a well-oiled machine so far in the competition. The Titans, on the other hand, haven't been as consistent as they were in the previous two seasons. Their wins against Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad were hard-fought while they also suffered comprehensive defeats at the hands of Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, and were taken by surprise by Punjab Kings' lower order having dominated for most of the game. Their batting has mostly revolved around Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan but it's the absence of Mohamed Shami that has hurt them the most, along with Rashid Khan not being a major wicket-taking force for them this season. Three wins out of three and the manner of the victories will please the management no end. The bowling continues to be their stronger suit while the resurgence of Riyan Parag gives an extra dimension to the batting unit. The Assam batter's form augurs well for the team with Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal yet to fire. The duo are bound to strike form sooner than later and that will make the hosts' batting ominous. The 2023 season saw RR stumbling at home but have gone back to their usual winning ways at Jaipur this season. Given the big dimensions of the venue and its history of having two-paced pitches more often than not, RCB's batting will have their task cut out. They have lost 10 of their last 15 games, and are plagued by injuries, unavailability and indifferent form, despite several experiments, the team management are far from finding a fix. Pant's absence may have been a key missing link in DC's fragile middle-order last season, but it seems to be just as vulnerable right now. With their insistence on retaining the opening Australian combination of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh, their middle order continues to wear a thin look. Abhishek Porel's explosive innings in the previous game would have given them some reasons to be delighted, but the burden on him along with Ricky Bhui, Axar Patel and Sumit Kumar is way too much to marshall the middle and lower-middle order with only a returning Rishabh Pant and yet-to-fire Tristan Stubbs. The bowling pack is ready, believes team mentor Sourav Ganguly. It's on the batters to pick themselves up. The challenge, unfortunately, resumes against the potent, varied and experienced bowling attack of Royals in Jaipur. The good news for DC though is that the current lot of Royals players, despite the victory in the previous game, haven't fully aced the conditions of the tricky pitch at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Phil Salt’s unbeaten century skipper Jos Buttler’s fifty and Harry Brook’s cameo against Andre Russell – the England batter smashed 24 off the final over – powered England home in a final-over thriller at St George’s Grenada. Salt followed up his unbeaten 109 off 56 balls with a 57-ball 119 as England crushed West Indies by 75 runs completing a series-levelling win in Trinidad. Buttler and Liam Livingstone also had a great time in the penultimate T20I as they hit fifties to support Salt. Defending 267 England struck at regular intervals and the hosts folded for 192 in the 16th over. Reece Topley grabbed three scalps while Sam Curran and Rehan Ahmed picked up two apiece.
