De discussie rondom de lengte van Formule 1-weekenden is door Max Verstappen flink aangezwengeld. De Nederlander nam het op voor zijn collega's en sprak zich uit over de gefaalde verandering met het inkorten van de weekenden. Na Carlos Sainz en Sebastian Vettel sluit nu ook Kevin Magnussen zich aan bij Verstappen. Het komende weekend wordt er voor het eerst gereden op het gloednieuwe circuit in Miami en het is altijd maar de vraag hoe dat gaat werken op zowel de banden als de grip op de baan. Pirelli denkt dat er rondom het Hard Rock Stadium snelle ontwikkelingen plaatsvinden betreffende de grip, en dat het zelfs vanaf het begin prima te doen zal zijn.
