San Diego State baseball delivered one of its most impressive performances — a combined no-hitter by five pitchers (Jake Frohn, Carson Johnson, Issac Araiza, Bryce McKnight & Aidan Russell) in a 1-0 shutout of UC Riverside. But just days later, reality hit hard. The Aztecs got swept by New Mexico, giving up big inning after big inning in losses of 5-3 (walk-off), 11-3, and 12-8. Elite pitching flashes and resilient offense from Tice Peterson and Max Farrell are there, but defensive miscues and inconsistency against conference foes keep costing them.
