The Mohammad Rizwan-led side has already sealed the series with a 2-0 unassailable lead, putting on two excellent performances, with the most recent one being a dominating 81-run win at the Newlands. The Proteas have been hurt even more with their pacers getting injured one by one. Ottneil Baartman is the latest entry on the injury list, and he has been ruled out of this third ODI due to a right knee injury. Titans fast bowler Corbin Bosch has been named as his replacement. Heinrich Klaasen has been the lone warrior for the hosts in both matches, with scores of 86 and 97, respectively. He was agonisingly close to a century at the Newlands. The Temba Bavuma-led unit has been looking to test their bench strength throughout this series, and that can be an excuse for their dismal performance. Still, it is a solid squad that has a plethora of match-winners. Saim Ayub's cracking century and Agha Salman's all-round show overshadowed a Klaasen special at the Boland Park, where the visitors held their nerves to win the thrilling series opener by three wickets. Abdullah Shafique was out for a duck in both the ODIs and to Marco Jansen. It would be a matter of concern for the management ahead of the Pink ODI. Saim Ayub got a start in the second game after returning Bavuma put the Men in Green to have a bat. Babar Azam and Rizwan rebuilt, both getting much-needed half-centuries. Agha Salman continued his excellent form, but it was Kamran Ghulam's whirlwind fifty that shifted the momentum completely and helped Pakistan to get a score that wasn't imagined early on. The tourists failed to play the entire 50 overs, but they hammered 329 before getting bundled with a ball remaining. Debutant Kwena Maphaka and Marco Jansen were taken to the cleaners, and they shared 7 wickets in the process. Bjorn Fortuin bowled a decent spell and grabbed a wicket, as did Andile Phehlukwayo. Fortuin walked off the field after finishing his bowling quota due to some hamstring concerns but did come to bat later in the game.

Pound-for-pound great Canelo Álvarez turned in a vintage performance by dropping the previously unbeaten Jaime Munguia Saturday night on his way to earning a unanimous decision as Canelo Promotions presented the all-Mexican clash headlining a PBC Pay-Per-View event on Prime Video from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Making the fourth defense of his WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO 168-pound world titles, Canelo delivered another Cinco de Mayo weekend masterpiece as he took home the decision by scores of 117-110, 116-111 and 115-112. Munguia fought valiantly and was extremely busy in the ring, but Canelo consistently landed the cleaner shots across the 12 rounds. “This win means a lot,” said Canelo. “I’m glad that I gave him this opportunity. Munguia is a great guy and a great champion. He’s gonna have a great career. I’m very proud that the whole world is watching us Mexicans.” "I came out strong and was winning the early rounds,” said Munguia. “I let my hands go, but he’s a fighter with a lot of experience. The loss hurts because it's my first loss and I felt strong.” Munguia appeared to have the momentum after he closed round three with a right hand that appeared to snap Canelo’s head back. However, Canelo responded like the future Hall of Famer he is and delivered the highlight of the fight in round four with a left hook-uppercut that put Munguia on the mat. “I took my time,” said Canelo. “I have a lot of experience. Munguia is a great fighter. He's strong and smart. But I have 12 rounds to win the fight and I did. I did really good and I’m proud of it. He’s strong, but he’s a little slow. I could see every punch. That’s why I’m the best.” "There’s no doubt I would have beaten anyone else tonight,” said Munguia. “He has a lot of experience. I started well, but he’s a fighter who creates a lot of problems." Canelo rode the momentum from that moment to dominate the final eight rounds on the way to his unanimous decision. While Munguia threw more punches than Canelo according to CompuBox (663-536), it was Canelo who held the edge in shots landed (234-170) and connect rate (44% to 26%). After sweeping the final three rounds on all of the cards, Canelo discussed his place in boxing history and his plans for what comes next. “When I retire, my numbers will say what position I'm in,” said Canelo. “I know there's a lot of great Mexican fighters in the past, but I’m the best fighting right now. I’m gonna rest and enjoy my family. If the money is right, I can fight right now. I’ve fought everyone and I can do what I want." #CaneloMunguia #Canelo #JaimeMunguia Visit PremierBoxingChampions.com for more info. You would think that India have their noses ahead right now but you never know on these type of surfaces. India are 95/3 at the end of 29 overs and still require 136 runs to win this Test and go 1-0 up in the series. India got off to a steady start to the chase. The English bowlers bowled tight lines and lengths with the new ball and didn’t allow the hosts to get away. Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Rohit Sharma took their time to settle in. Both put 42 between them before Jaiswal flicked one straight to Pope at short leg to fall on 15. Tom Hartley removed Shubman Gill on a silver duck in the same over as the hosts suddenly found themselves in a spot of bother. KL Rahul joined his skipper at the crease. Rohit played some lovely strokes and put the pressure back on England. Another gripping session of Test cricket. Just when the partnership was starting to blossom Hartley struck for the third time by trapping the Indian skipper on 39 in front of the stumps. Axar Patel was promoted up the batting order to number five. The decision is paying off for the hosts as he has displayed good technique and held the innings nicely. He along with Rahul have kept the visitors at bay and taken India to tea at 95/3. They require 136 more to win this Test match. There is enough assistance to the spinners and England can still hope of defending this total. They will have to bowl consistent lines and lengths in the evening session to create chances. England on the other hand have been pretty solid with their tactics but they did let it slip in the last half an hour of the session. Tom Hartley seems to have let go of all the jitters from the first innings and bowled brilliantly as he picked all three wickets. Jack Leach also bowled a few overs and looked good but they still need to keep their focus and look to take wickets as the runs will keep on coming sooner or later. the Test match is nicely poised at the moment where both the teams have a chance to emerge victorious. India still needs 136 runs to win and England needs 7 wickets before that. Time is no factor in this match as there is one full day left tomorrow. The Final session of the day is coming up which is definitely going to keep all of us on the edge of our seats as this session can determine where the result is going to fall on this 1sy Test of this series between England and India. Joe Root did bowl well in patches but Ben Stokes would have liked a bit more from him. Axar who has been sent up the top order has done a fine job as well. Session Summary: 29 overs 95 runs and 3 wickets. Another riveting session of Test cricket has gone by and at the end of it India still need 136 runs to win with 7 wickets in hand. England looked to be in control of that session for a long time but India have managed to pull it back nicely with an unbeaten stand of 32 runs between KL Rahul and Axar Patel. For India it wasn't the best of starts as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill both fell in the same over in the first half an hour or so and then the skipper was also undone by Tom Hartley. Rahul though ha taken his form from the first innings and hasn't let that dropped catch of Ollie Pope bother him too much. Chasing 231 the Indian openers were quite watchful unlike the first innings. Rohit was dropped on 5 but he batted more positive than Jaiswal. Hartley who was taken to the cleaners in his opening spell in the first dig bowled beautifully. He bowled in the right spots exerted pressure and nipped out India's top three. Audio Content Disclaimer For This Content This is self-created content and not copied content.
