LeBron James - Scintillating Scorer 16/17 Part 2

The single most spectacular individual talent in the entire NBA, bar none, is inarguably LeBron James. Does his credentials really need listing? If so: 3x NBA Champion. 3x NBA Finals MVP. 4x Most Valuable Player. 13x NBA All-Star. 2x All-Star Game MVP. 11x All-NBA First Team. 2x All-NBA Second Team. 5x NBA All-Defensive First Team. 2014 All-Defensive Second Team. 2012 Defensive Player of the Year Runner-Up. NBA Rookie of the Year. 2008 NBA Scoring Champion. 7th ALL-TIME LEADING SCORER (as of Dec 30, 2017). 7 STRAIGHT NBA Finals Appearances. 2x Olympic Gold Medalist (Beijing 2008, London 2012). Along with a whole host of other accolades, LeBron will always be known as the man who lifted the curse in Cleveland. The Cavaliers became the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3-1 deficit, ending a 52 year title drought. In 2016, LeBron became the first player in NBA history to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals in a playoff series. James joined Jerry West and James Worthy as the only players to record a triple-double in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. In 2017, he became the league’s ALL-TIME leading playoff scoring leader, and was the first to average a triple-double in the Finals. The 2016-17 season saw LeBron lead the league with 37.8 minutes per game, at the age 31 going on 32. He averaged a career best in terms of rebounds and assists (8.6 boards and 8.7 assists). He finished in the top 20 in terms of rebounding (17th), and in the top 10 in points and assists (his 8.7 was good for 6th, and his 26.4 points per game ranked him 8th). The whole point of this video isn’t to showcase something secret, nor is it even a complicated video. LeBron has always valued court vision above all else, using that clarity, verging on clairvoyance, to get other guys involved. You can see that he truly cherishes sharing the rock. James’ generosity despite being the most supreme;y skilled basketball player has led to criticism over the years. "He shouldn’t care who else is on the floor", they claimed. "He should always take the last shot.” LeBron has always been more Magic than Michael, but that more means there’s always been a mix. Somewhere along the way, he’s managed to harness the heart of both greats. He will always see himself as the playmaker, living and dying with the decision to make the right basketball play each and every time. This, however, simply means we shouldn't pigeonhole him. To be JUST a scorer is to scorn LeBron. He scoffs at the idea of being labeled as such…and yet, as an individual, he has evolved into a weapon without weakness. The evolution was inevitable: he’s always been a man of his own convictions, unafraid to share the spotlight, and unwilling to be seen as something he isn’t. I call him a scorer in this video ONLY because it’s one of a series; it is, but one aspect of one player who dominates the game on nearly every level. *DESCRIPTION FROM January 2018
