Full time score: Melita 2-0 St. George's Scorers: Matteo Desira Buttigieg âš˝, Julian Galea âš˝. An important three points for our Reds who record a second consecutive clean sheet and rise further up the standings! The first half was a balanced encounter, with both sides trying to gain a foothold in the match. Our opponents went closest midway through the half when they had a goal disallowed for offside. A rather uneventful first half ended all square with both coaches using the interval to regroup and make minor changes. In the second half, our Reds improved and took the lead within a few minutes when Noel Francis Omondi advanced down the right flank before cutting the ball back to find Matteo Desira Buttigieg whose shot went in off the post! With our Reds now in control, they swiftly added a second when Noel Francis Omondi once again made inroads down the right flank, this time finding Julian Galea who doubled our lead! With a two goal lead, our boys calmly administered the encounter and ensured the three points were secured with a clean sheet to go along with them! Well done boys - a great start to our Challenge League season! Formation: Ryan Caruana, Michael Cachia, Camilo Babilonia, Edward Herrera, Jean Pierre Attard (C) (Daniel Cutajar), Anderson Barros, Matthew Debattista, Antoine Attard, Julian Galea (Nick Cutajar), Matteo Desira Buttigieg (Andrew Sant), Noel Francis Omondi (Chris Baker). #homor #bornandbRED
