Host Australia started to play by two wickets for 166 runs, but Australia have scored 338 runs in 105.4 overs with the help of Steve Smith's century. In response to this, India have scored 88 runs in 40 overs at the loss of 2 wickets. Currently, Cheteshwar Pujara and captain Ajinkya Rahane are at the crease. India got off to a good start in the Sydney Test. There was a 70-run partnership between vice-captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, but Rohit Sharma was caught out by Josh Hazlewood off a personal score of 26. Opener Shubman Gill completed half-century in 100 balls for India. This was not only Shubman Gill's test career, but also the first half-century of his international career. However, he was also dismissed on the next ball. He was caught by Pat Cummins at the hands of Cameron Green. Smith, who failed to score in the series against India on the second day of the match, scored a century. After facing 200 balls, with the help of 13 fours, he completed his 27 Test centuries.
