The New York Yankees make it two in a row against the Cleveland Guardians as Gleyber Torres plays pinch-hit hero with the walk-off winner to put the Yanks in front of a back-and-forth affair for good, 5-4. Nestor Cortes took the mound and continued his dominant start to the year, extending his scoreless inning streak all the way into the fifth, where a two run homer was his only blemish of the day. Cortes finished with 6.1 IP, 2 ER and 8 K, giving the Yankees' bats enough time to get going, and shortly thereafter, they did. Ultimately, both sides traded blows until the bottom of the ninth, where Kiner-Falefa sparked the comeback that Torres finished off to secure another series win. A lot to like on the diamond, specifically in another fantastic outing from Cortes and signs of a consistent roster starting to take shape. However, the storylines did not stop there, as fans began to senselessly throw trash on the field following the win.
