Además de los cuatro títulos nacionales entre Liga y Copa, el club se proclamó supercampeón de España en 1982, primera edición de la competición. A nivel continental, ha disputado nueve ediciones de la Copa UEFA/Liga Europa, una de la Recopa de Europa y cuatro de la Copa de Europa/Liga de Campeones. A nivel social, cuenta con 35.000 abonados y es, según el CIS, el séptimo club con mayor porcentaje de aficionados en España.
