The Montreal Canadiens played tonight in Rogers Place against the Edmonton Oilers and would end up defeating them by a final score of 5-2 in regulation. In the 1st period goals from Cole Caufield and Evander Kane would keep it tied 1-1 until late it was Brendan Gallagher's 1st goal in 17 games for the 2-1 lead into the 2nd period. In said 2nd period Ryan McLeod would controversially score his 1st in 18 games for the tie game, but Nick Suzuki after some controversy would make it 3-2 Canadiens. In the 3rd period Habs would score shorthanded with Artturi Lehkonen with his 4th goal in as many games, and Mike Hoffman would put home the empty net goal for the 5-2 victory. With this victory tonight the Montreal Canadiens are now 15-34-7 with 37 points, currently 2nd last in the NHL standings.
