The New York Rangers lost in obvious fashion on Wednesday night as they were easily handled by the Colorado Avalanche. With Igor Shesterkin injured and Alexander Georgiev taking a needed day of rest, Adam Huska made the start in net for the Broadway Blueshirts. Colorado outplayed the Rangers from the second period onward as the Avalanche scored five unanswered goals after a 2-1 score at the end of the first and ultimately won by a mark of 7-3. Jacob Trouba, Filip Chytil and Nils Lundkvist scored goals for New York with Alexis Lafrèniere, K'Andre Miller, Ryan Reaves, Artemi Panarin, Jacob Trouba and Nils Lundkvist all recording assists.
