Christian Pulisic sends top four messages to West Ham and Liverpool as Chelsea stars sent warning The Chelsea morning digest from me as the Blues surged to take every match 'seriously' by American star Christian Pulisic, with a place in the top four up for grabs. Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Tuesday, April 13. Chelsea's Champions League opponents Off the back of their thumping Premier League win over Crystal Palace, Chelsea are quickly back into action once more with a Champions League quarter-final second leg against Porto this evening up next. Going into the game with a 2-0 lead the Blues are in pole position to make it through to their first Champions League semi-final since 2014, but it looks like Porto will be fielding a stronger team this time around. Star midfielder Sergio Oliveira missed the first-leg through suspension and was only a substitute for Porto's league clash with Tondela on the weekend. Porto manager Sergio Conceicao said "we will see" when asked about Oliveira's chances of featuring tonight but with the midfielder managing 23 minutes on the weekend the expectation is that he will start the match. The midfielder has netted 19 goals so far this season, including five in seven Champions League matches, and will add a greater attacking threat to the Portuguese team if selected by Conceicao. Serious Pulisic on Chelsea's top-four strategy Christian Pulisic has said that Chelsea will take every game 'seriously' between now and the end of the season in order to ensure Champions League football next season. The American international scored in both halves of the win against Crystal Palace and was pleased to put the horrific 5-2 defeat to West Brom behind the team and look forward to the coming matches as the season enters its business end. The Blues briefly went back into fourth after the win as they moved above Liverpool, but Tuchel's side was overtaken on Sunday by West Ham, who moved into the fourth spot after a 3-2 victory against Leicester City. But Pulisic is feeling good about Chelsea's top four prospects with seven games to play, including a game against West Ham later this month. Speaking after the win against Palace, Pulisic said: "I'm feeling really confident, I'm feeling very good with the team as well. It was a big response from the last Premier League game. "We're not going to win every game and we had a tough game against West Brom, for sure. We didn't play to our usual standard, but that's going to happen and we were able to respond. "The way we responded over this week and got the results, we're definitely happy." Shearer's warning to Chelsea strikers Alan Shearer has praised Thomas Tuchel for his team selection against Crystal Palace, but in doing so has highlighted an issue for three men who were left out at Selhurst Park. None of Olivier Giroud, Tammy Abraham, or Timo Werner were selected from the start against Roy Hodgson's side and such was the quality of Chelsea's attacking display, the trio my struggle to oust Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, and Pulisic from the starting XI going forward. "I thought it was a very clever team selection to not play Giroud or Abraham but instead play Havertz, Pulisic, and Mount, who like to drop deep," Shearer told BBC Sport. The former England international added: "They created chance after chance. Havertz, who played very well and scored one, had an assist, probably should’ve scored another couple of goals." "As I said it was a constant, a defender just didn’t want to come out and close them down. He [Mount] was clever in everything he did as well. "Second half it didn’t change… it’s all from those players dropping deep and getting the ball and as I said they were just too good for them. It was a superb performance from Chelsea, particularly going forward." Please do not forget to subscribe, like, share, and comment, Thanks for watching. https://youtu.be/ZNSNCVJB-Ds
