Norwich’s squad isn’t as good as their last that won the Championship, only to finish bottom of the Premier League and to make matters worse they’ve sold their best player! Relegated in 2019/20, Watford have returned to the top flight with basically the same squad that was relegated and I see this season ending the same. They’ve recruited well, adding young, sellable talent for cheap with 23 year old Emmanuel Dennis and 22 year old Imran Louza the pick of the bunch for just 12 million. Watford’s hopes of survival will be pinned on last season’s top scorer Ismalia Sarr but I think a lack of creativity and Watford’s impatient board will cost them. ► JOIN PATREON: https://bit.ly/StatmanPatreon Brentford are the only ones I have some hope for. Teams that play a back 5 tend to translate well into the Premier League, with Sheffield United and Wolves prime examples in recent years. That being said they both won their respective competitions and were more complete sides than Thomas Frank’s Bees. In terms of personnel, I think Ivan Toney will definitely score goals again this season. But I’m not sure Brentford will have enough quality defensively to stay up. Moving onto the other side of the table, even if Leicester do sell Maddison to Arsenal, I don’t think there’s enough swing to cost them fifth place. Last season, Leicester coped without their number 10 and arguably were more reliant on the dynamic running of Harvey Barnes or the goalscoring of Iheanacho. They’ve also got Youri Tielemans who could adopt a more attacking position, especially with the arrival of Soumare. The Foxes have had another stellar transfer window, improving their squad and replacing Jamie Vardy with Patson Daka. Add that to their consistency and evolution under Rodgers and for me, it’s hard to see them finish outside the top five. Chelsea won the Champions League last season and since Tuchel’s appointment, have more expected points than anyone else in the league. Liverpool have their best defenders returning and have reinforced the position with one of the best talents in Europe. Whilst Manchester United finished 2nd last season and have massively improved their starting eleven. Unfortunately, the window isn’t shutting today and it looks like Manchester City are going to add the best goalscorer and the second best creator in the competition to their squad. With that team, City will win the league at a canter and Kane will win the golden boot, probably breaking lots of records in the process.
