The New Jersey Devils were able to break their losing streak tonight as they overtook the Carolina Hurricanes 7-4 and brought the Prudential Center a win for the first time since January 6th. The game did not get off to a great start for the Devils when they let in two goals early in the first period, but they were able to turn it around by the time we reached the first intermission and bring it to a tie game at 2-2. While a lot of the issues in tonight's game started with the lack of defense by the Devils, they slowly but surely were able to get back on track, and began to seem like a truly competitive team in the second period. As the Canes defense began to crumble, the Devils started getting stronger and landing the puck in the back of the net multiple times within only a couple of minutes. The top 3 stars of tonight's game were Jack Hughes, Andreas Johnsson, and Nathan Bastian, though Ryan Graves is an honorable mention with 3 assists tonight.
