With 8:02 remaining, this game was tied at 55-55 when Nick Sherod led the Spiders (23-7, 13-4 A-10) on a 25-8 run to put Davidson away. Sherod hit 4 three point FGs and a deuce to finish with 19 points to lead the Spiders scoring. Blake Francis gave able assistance. He scored 18 points, including 6 during the deciding final minutes. Richmond's defense held the hot shooting Wildcats to only 27% from 3FG (7-26). The Spiders also controlled the boards winning the battle 36-25.
