The Montreal Canadiens would wrap up their season today at home in the Bell Centre with a loss in overtime to the Edmonton Oilers with a final score of 4-3. Cole Caufield would open the scoring just a few minutes into the game before Alex Chiasson would tie the game up. Nick Suzuki would give the Canadiens a 2-1 lead but Ryan Nugent-Hopkins would score on the power-play for the 2-2 lead heading into the 2nd period. In said 2nd period the only goal would be scored by the Oilers from Leon Draisital. In the 3rd period off a turnover the lone goal would be Nick Suzuki's 2nd of the game and would earn Cole Caufield his first career NHL assist and first career 2-point game! However it wouldn't take long into overtime until Dominik Kahun would end it, just 27 seconds and it was over. With this loss the Montreal Canadiens finish their season with a 24-21-11 record with 59 points as they finish 4th in the North Division and will take on the potential President's Trophy winning Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the 2021 NHL Playoffs.
