UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier was scheduled to face Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 197. But an injury just weeks before the fight forced Cormier to withdraw. Jones would face the late replacement, Ovince Saint Preux, for an interim title. Cormier still attended UFC 197, but acted as a commentator for the new main event.
