The Montreal Canadiens go into Tampa Bay and lose to the Lightning 5-4 and going up 2-0 on the scoreboard and 17-0 in the shots just about halfway through the 1st period. In his first game back Kotkaniemi opened up the scoring followed with Max Domi scoring before Price let in 4 awful goals before Ben Chiarot made it 4-3, then with an attempted comeback Jordan Weal would score on the powerplay but the Lightning held on and won the game 5-4. With this loss the Canadiens are now 18-14-6 with 42 points for 5th in the Atlantic Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.
